Sunlight Warrior Build [Help me building my sunbro char]

So thats it. I want to do something good for coop and maybe pvp with my sunbro char . These are my stats at the time, and will not level more until ive make a decision about how im gonna build him.

Im currently using the elite knight set, claymore, grass shield, wolf ring and RTS ring .

well, your faith is high, so i'm assuming you are going for the lightning spear miracles. they're powerful, but can be difficult to hit with.

after that, just increase your end/vit and if you don't go down an elemental apth, STR, unless you change weapons(then use that weapons highest scaled stat)

you may want to invest in miracles like force(or WoTG), and perhaps seek guidance(if you're into lore) or tranquil Walk of peace, to deal with invaders more easily. TWoP can make aiming a spear miracle much easier.

As you say, im aiming for the lightning spear miracles, i just love them too much :3 and i will test that combo with TWoP you are saying, looks good.

Should i increase STR or DEX?
Best SL for jolly cooperation?
Shall i divine ascend my BSS?
Tips for Sunlight Knights?

which ring is RTS? anywho, i'd ditch grass crest shield for something with more stability and 100% physical block...like the silver knight shield! if you want stamina regen and you have an extra ring slot, i'd use the cloranthy ring (found at the beginning of the great hollow).

Yeah im going now to blightown so i will rush to that ring soon.

And i use the grass shield because i switch between double-handed claymore and BSS. I use the crestfallen shield too when i need more protection.

i believe those 2 swords use STR, so level that, unless you go elemental(or divine in this case) best soul level is about 30, because it hits a large range of areas, from about gargoyles(maybe taurus) to sens(if barely). considering you are higher, i'd level a bit, and hit sens, anor londo, and maybe blighttown. i'd suggest about 45. maybe 50, if you want something specific. i'd personally say go for the divine on the BSS, if you go for great sunlight(only 10 more faith than you have), and another elemental path for the claymore, if you want it to be effective, while staying in a suitable range for jolly co-op, over a range of areas.

general tips include knowing the areas well(you should anyways), trying to lead them in the right direction(and towards goodies), but also following their lead, and allowing them in on the action. you are there to help, not play for them. a good sunbro knows what to do in any given situation. just learn to adapt, and you should be fine. in case of an invasion, your job goes from guide, to meat shield. do your best to defeat the invader, but make sure you die before the host. other than that, play by ear

Balder side sword scales with dex, really f'ing well. At +15 it scales with an S, and can be buffed as well. Even without a buff it is deadly. It's one of my favorite weapons.

true, but he's trying to be a sunbro and unless he wants to go to NG+ he can't really afford to spend those points in dex(if he wants the great sunlight spear). thats why i gave the above suggestions.

Yup i want all the lightning spears :3 But for the sunlight spear i need Lords Gwyn Soul so i dont know if i should NG+ or just find anyone who trades it.

And about SL, I will just max faith to use all the lightning spears wich is 50.. (for the allmighty sunlight spear xD) So i need to level up at least +30 levels to fit those requirements. Bad thing is that i'll have too much level to do jolly coop.

hmm thats at about 68 correct? you could still co op in anor londo, as well as any lord souls area. if thats the case, go with the faith BSS, and an elemental Claymore, like i said earlier. if you want to get gwyns soul, either go to lord of ash in the "invader trader store of wonder" thread in the trading and player help section, or if you are on xbox, i have a few laying around. make sure you have the red sign soapstone first(i'd suggest going to lord of ash, he's generous to a fault, and will probably hand you enough souls to get well past level 68 anyways, if he does, keep em and give 1 to a host every now and then. gwyns only gives 40000, so i'm sure it'd be appreciated, while not overly affecting a players game. make sure to inform them to feed it to frampt). anyways, if you go with this, you'll have low health and stamina, so i'd replace the RTS with the Ring of favor and protection, but if you don't then thats fine.

:O Im on xbox, do you really could gimme one Gwyns Soul? I will be forever thankful. (but first i guess ill need to get the RSS at that annoying stair)
And about the rings yes i plan on using FaP with wolf or other.

it wouldn't really hurt, no. i'd suggest going to ash for the soul though. when i can get on is sporadic at best. hes usually on on the weekends, so he's more reliable in-game then i am. all he asks in return for what he gives you is any spare weapons or armor you feel like parting with. gave me 99 gwyn and gwyndolin souls, and asked for 6 weapons, not even high quality. just regular ol weapons. i tried to give him a few different kinds though. pretty good deal if you ask me. he's got a good reputation, and if he can't get to you, he'll send someone who can. i'm more of a last ditch effort.

He stated that he plans on raising his level once he knows what he wants for his toon. Dex is a very good choice for any kind of caster as it greatly increases casting time for most offensive spells. My dex/faith toon with 45 dex can throw a sunlight spear as fast as a regular lighting spear. That coupled with the BSS or the silver knight sword makes a very powerful mix, and adding a buff makes it super awesome lol. Just my two cents.

true, but as a sunbro not going for NG+, he only has so much to work with, especially going for sunlight spear. he's pretty much got that part figured out. very true on the damage though

Ok now im SL 70 with 50 faith and the stats i showed in the first post. But i have a problem i almost dont get summoned for jolly coop! Im in anor londo and i guessed that it could be easier to be summoned but nope...

Should i move to other area?
Should i lvl up some dex?
Its my SL good for coop?

I'm on PS3, so I'm not sure if everything around co-op is identical on Xbox, but I guess it is.

With SL 70 you can try one of the Lords areas. Duke's Archives, New Londo and Tomb of the Giants. I wouldn't recommend Lost Izalith, it's pain to play there and the boss is terrible to deal with. You can also go to Oolacile, I bet you will get summoned a lot for Artorias and Kalameet.
Once you reach SL 80-85 You can get summoned by the many SL 100s on NG+ in many locations.

Level up whatever you wish depending on your playstyle.
However, with 50 Faith, I would just use elemental/divine weapons and leveled up Vit and End. With 16 Vit you must die in a few hits and especially DLC and NG+ bosses hit hard. 18 End hinders your melee options and Claymore eats a lot of Stamina per swing.
Unless you want to go up to 100, or 120, I would leave Str and Dex alone, just to meet minimum requirements to use your favourite weapon.

Each area has it's own best co-op level range. When your character is in that areas SL range you usually get summoned very quickly. If you get summoned a lot, your SL and your area are good and you can stay there. If you don't get summoned at all, either level up, or move elsewhere.
Once you reach SL 100, you can co-op with people on SL 80-120, which covers most PvP players and I bet they will want help with NG+ bosses. My very own SL 100 gets a lot of co-op and PvP action...although I'm considering his deletion, or leveling up.

i switch between the zwiehander, flamburge, server and the silver knight sword depending on where and what i'm doing. buff all weapons based on where i'm at and who i'm fighting.

i've been running with the cloranthy ring almost perminatly, but will switch it up based on my mood, sometimes the evil eye ring for heals.

This is just so you know the strength of NG+ enemies and bosses and don't get destroyed by them when a host summons you to NG+. If you're familiar with NG+, there's no need to do this of course.

this one is a matter of how well he can adapt though. first time i ever fought artorias was a NG+ one, when i had been summoned. arty's attacks are relatively simple to dodge. kalameets a pain in the *** no matter how ya slice it though. funny story, when i was waiting for the arty summon, i got invaded, and hid near the fog door(the hallway sorta thing). invader ran in right as i cast fire tempest, got hit by 4 different pillars and killed XD
