How good are the claws?

Has anyone tried these bad boys out? I'm still fleshing out my int/dex (or fai/dex) build and I need some new, cool weapons for him. I'm pretty bad at parrying, so I would go with a shield and not duel wield them.

How good is it? Is it worth using it in the end?

i've seen some promising vids online showcasing them.

i'll be trying them out with an existing dex/faith build in the near future. i was thinking of putting the whip in the offhand to keep some distance as I don't have faith in parrying either due to lag.

I would love to read some other peoples experience.

I've never used them, but I'd go with the Shotel, for it's epic ability to say f u to people who turtle

I made a Wolverine build a work pretty well, but you have to be good. Just like you can make any weapon work if you're a good player. The claws of course, have the bonus that they cause bleed.

Love my +14 claws. Add a nice buff of pine, slb or dmb and they are devastating and very fast. Get in close and slash away. Plus the weight is only 1 which leaves many choices for a back up weapon of your choice should the need arise.

They're quite good, actually. Like aces said, devastating with a buff. Try the rolling+R1 attack and you'll love them!

I wouldn't recommend using a shield with them though. You really should stay mobile with the claws, mainly because of their short reach. If you have a shield, you'll be inclined to turtle behind it, and then you'll just be a sitting duck because of your opponent's greater range. In PvP, it's essential not to let your opponent control the battle. So stay mobile, and keep the pressure on him, rather than on yourself. Best way to do that, is to not rely on a shield.

I like the riposte of claws. I have dual of them lightning +5 on my Scarecrow character. I killed 4 kings my 2nd time with them on lvl 40 (dual wielding). In pvp I have to constantly support myself with talismans, poison darts and dung pies, especially on turtles. But it's worth the satisfaction after won battle. And if you're good in parrying with left handed claw then it's even more fun watching your enemy knee before you and wait for you to draw lines on his face, knowing that the actual player is pissed of on the other side of TV

Edit: didn't mean to yell. i was just sporting that look yesterday and i liked the vibe. but definitely try it out. i also tried a number of other combinations. its tough trying to get the right look and feel.

Lol, I'm just thinking out loud here. This build is being created to try out other play styles instead of my usual tank/turtle method. I want a fast, rolling, hornet ring, crit machine. I'm starting as a thief.

yeah that would work on the claws. i have a dex build that was focusing on short swords, so of course balder's is key. but since i have the dex, and trying to avoid making too many similar toons, using dual claws with full dragon form with be an nice alternative to the elite armor wearing balder yielding mode. it's like having 2 characters in 1! hahaha.

I think maybe it's time I gave this new guy some life. Although, now I'm not sure I should also level up int/faith and go with a pure dex build. But that's a topic for another thread.
