Is the tin crystalization catalyst really worth the sacrifice of castings or should I just not worry about it and stick to Logan's?

No. No no no no no.
If you must REALLY use it, only do so in moments where you value power over patience.
Fpr example, a boss that is annoying the crap outta you? Kill him fast with few but powerful casting.

Depends. I you think you can land your sorceries and want to make them more powerful (or if you just have a ton of casts). then you can use the TCC.

But if you would rather be able to use a lot of spells, even if they're weaker. Then use Logans.

It's up to personal preference really.

For anything with over 10 casts I would use the TCC e.g. CHSM and for anything less I would use Logan's since getting a damage boost does not really offset the lower casts

I almost always go with Logan's, just because I find that the more powerful spells are going to do so much damage anyway that it's worth having more chances to attack with them. That's just my personal opinion though. I also generally don't make pure casters though, so if I nail someone with say a CSS, then I can run in and kill them with melee when their health is low from the spell. I'd say if you were going with a pure caster the TCC might be better, so you'd have more of a chance to 1HKO, or close to it.

Both are good. Just got to pick your spots when to use them.

Logan's for me. The logic I use is that to make TCC worthwhile you'd need to double the damage output. With that being said, a cool idea would be to use the ring that doubles casts at 1/2 hp with it, but then you lose a ring slot.

Tried nit, ring doesnt cancel out the effect, but makes it so that tcc only takes away 25% of your casts. I had 8, slapped on the ring and TCC, i had 6.

Personally I love having as many casts as possible, so I use logan's. You do so much damage at the higher lvls that it s often worth sacrificing a small amount of damage if it means more casts, since you can often finish a low health enemy with something besides a spell anyways.

Been playing a glass cannon pyromancer that mainly uses sorcery and an enchanted hand ax. Logan's catalyst is amazing, though I probably should have gotten at least SOME health, since a lot of bosses are one shotting me, if they catch me that is silly.
