Post by yajnaji on Sun Jan 06, 2013 4:28 pm

not that it will matters the most, but i kinda like the "each game, each world" approach so far in the souls series.

    a sequel...? meh...

    thought?

Affaik different world (or part of the world), but same universe/lore. They are building the game from the history, lore and concepts that is already established, I assume this is why Miyazaki could be assigned to a backseat role.

I like demon souls and Dark souls alike...but like the Dark soul level spread better.

Well...Dark Souls II will be in the same world yet in another place, wich means, no Lordran, so...I dont see a problem there, I mean, are thou not curious about all the other lands, like Carim or Astora? Because I for one am.

I may be the only one that thinks this... but it would be neat if they took the unfun zone that is "Lost Izalith" and turned it into this amazing area. There is so much "lore" that happens there that could be part of Dark Souls 2 (all that "world in dark" and the witches are trying to light it up... what could posably go wrong?)

It seems that Painted World is making a comeback. I look forward to finding out what the heck happened to that place.

Hmmm.. if they do it the way I think they might, sounds like they're gonna build up the lore of a land spanning hundreds of years, and each game being in a different region of said world in another time, with a different part of the interlinked lore coming into play... Sounds familiar to some of you right?

Either way I have no prob whatsoever with them doing it in the same world but a different land, as long as they keep on innovating it and refuse to let it become stale and gather dust.. like the series that it seems to be copying this sequel idea from.

Like ClassicBlaze said, I also thought the game was supposed to revolve around other established areas, like Vinheim, Catarina, Carim and Astora. Where does it say that they are reusing the current map?

They haven't said they are reusing the current map. Only that it will be the same size as Dark Souls but more packed. If I remember correctly.

Actually, I think he said it will be a LITTLE bigger. And for all you or I know, it may be another region yet unnamed in any of the Lore.

I don't think that From Software has a no-sequel guideline for their products. The fact is that Dark Souls isn't the sequel of Demon's Souls only for some copyright issues with Sony.

I think your spot on with that.
They are probably going the "Skyrim" route by keeping the same world but each game will be a different location. Which could be great as long as it stays true to the lore and is well thought out and doesnt get gimmicky or they dont rush a new souls game every year just to keep up with elder scrolls or something like that.
