    Pure Pyromancer Build

    I've made a pure pyromancer, with a fire main and a lightning secondary if someone has stupid fire resistance.

    Any advice/changes you could make would be appreciated. The armour is the way it is because I like how it looks.

    1. That's not really a pure pyro build, since you have weapons.
    2. Why are your weapons elemental if you have 45 dex?

    The 45 Dex is for cast speeds. I should've put pure fire, with aux lightning. but meh.

    Would a +15 weapon work better on the great scythe?

    Spell order is important, you need the damage boosting gear or it won't work as well as it should, with 40 dex regular is better than chaos, read the section on playing a pyromancer here http://soulswiki.forumsrpg.com/t7925-an-introduction-to-dark-souls-pvp-v07 to understand why I changed what I did.

    Thanks for the help, but I'm just making a change to the ring set up. Instead of using RoFaP I'll use Havel's so it's easier to get to 40 poise. I just don't see the point of having 1800 health compared to 1500. I'll keep the magic boosting gear etc.

    No problem, its your call.

    I'll say it again though: you live and die by your spell order. You have to have a plan for when, why, and in what order you cast or you'll confuse yourself and die.

    I run a sl 80 pyro and this is hands down the most important part of a pure caster, the next is casting unlocked.

    I'm practising unlocked casting in PvE. Just to get used to the range and how I need to control my camera. I know the application will be different in PvP but if I know how far my castings will fire, I'm halfway there I guess.

    Yeah. The next step is anticipating the direction they're going to dodge, which can only be learned in pvp.

    (casting gcfb at your feet is a good way to fend off would be roll bsers, they'll eat at least 800 damage, if you follow up with a gc quickly enough it becomes 1700 damage including the lava)

    Pretty much what both guys have said. However to get the pure pyromancer feel I strongly recommend you use a low AR weapon so that you use that weapon as backup only and focus more on dealing damage with your pyros. Since you have 45 Dex a rapier is the best backup weapon for any spellcaster. Always have your pyro glove out, only use the shield if your opponent is too aggressive or you need some turtling.
