GLGS, I don't like the raw physicality behind this weapon. It is fun to use, sure, but I meh.

S'ok though. I replaced it with the GSoA(True), and all my enemies have fallen.

except for the gold jackasses. They must die to a Shotel.

    Bloody cowards.

I see your point. It's like elemental weapons, except physical. And crappy later on.

well I'd argue you have access to standard titanite a lot earlier, and shortbows are really easy to get your hands on. Once fire is accessible it's no contest at all, but that's at least some purpose I've found for it.

You are correct in that standard is accessible earlier, but I can grab a Fire Great Scythe in under 10 minutes.

I don't upgrade the scythe for a while, but it still carries me to the depths and beyond. And once I get to the depths, farming for greens becomes an easy matter, especially with a fire weapon.

Now that we're talking about it, I'm not even sure that fire would be more effective than raw in a bow. At least without fire arrows, and not upgraded. I'd offer to look at my weapon stats, but I literally just deleted that toon to make my knight for the tournament. I've decided poise is the way to go

I'm sure a raw shortbow would be better than a fire shortbow. No doubt about that.

Well with physical arrows anyway. I'd think a fire shortbow might be stronger with fire arrows. I've done some crossbow testing and that at least seems to be the way they work, but scaling doesn't come into it at all with CB's, and raw shortbows still get some scaling benefits.

That's kinda what I was thinking. It's just like the Darkmoon Bow using Moonlight Arrows to maximize damage.

Yup. That's how I've been trying to do it ever since I did that Heavy CB testing. Seems to be pretty uniform. ML arrows with magic, enchanted, divine, and occult bows, fire arrows with fire, although I haven't tested chaos yet, lightning bolts with lightning CB's, and physical with physical.

It's for low strength, dex builds that want a weapon that does high physical damage, because physical damage is the most effective at dealing damage. The thing is that it sucks now when compared to the obsidian sword that has higher base damage, can be buffed, has a far more useful 2 handed attacks and it's upgrades are more easily obtained. Also having to wait till you get to Anor Londo on NG+ to make it is it's biggest draw back. It should have been an item that Gwyn drops rather than you make.

^ You can buff the Obsidian GS? I didn't think you could buff any of the dragon weapons.

The DKGA and the Obsidian Greatsword can both be buffed.

Oh yeah, the buff gets multiplied by the R2 damage modifier as well.

Whoa. This I have to try. I actually have a DM toon I've been using the DGA and DMB with a lot recently. I'm totally going to try it with the DKGA. It'd compliment my build perfectly. This whole time I've had no idea. I can't believe that. I think I only tried it with the DGS, and then just assumed you couldn't buff any of them. Learn something new every day.

^ Yup. You're right. I just looked it up. The Dragon's Tooth too. Although, unless you're a dragon, I still think that one's kinda useless in light of the GC

In my mind it should, same goes for the Dragon Great sword. The only one that I think shouldn't is the MLGS and that's because it's pure magic damage.

    Ah.
If only it could be buffed, though.

Just imagine 800+ pure magic AR. Praise the Sun

Biggest disappointment for me was the crystal ring shield. I'd seen a vid on youtube (obviously pre patch 1.05) where it was kicking out some serious damage !

So i made it, and was all bummed out because not only was it useless post patch as a offensive weapon, but also as a dfensive shield.

Actually, there's a glitch to buff it. It's scarry :pale:

I think I owe a stranger a big sorry if this is true.I once called a invader a cheat when I saw him buff the DKGA an then proceded to kick my Äss with it... This was way back though when everyone was new to DkS.Funny thing was I never tryed doing it and I never saw anyone do it since too so it never gave me question to me being wrong to call him/her a cheat..

I tried buffing the Drake Sword and then relized I couldn't. I assumed none of the dragon weapons could be buffed. Then later I learned some can be buffed.

Also, don't worry about your cheater accusation. Some skilled players get called cheaters even though they never cheat. They're used to it. (Someone recently posted he was called a cheater because he used the Orange Chared Ring, LOL)

Another weapon I regreat making is Raw Gargoyel Tail Axe. It was great at first.

A question that's been bugging my mind is that can you get the boss soul that you use to create a weapon back if you revert said weapon back to it's original form.

For example: I created the cursed Greatsword of Artorias using Sif's soul however I wanted the original one with the divine enchantment to defeat the skeletons that surround Nito during the boss fight therefor I will have to acquire Sif's soul again to make it so could I get back the soul if I revert the greatsword back to the longsword +10?
