It's similar to buckler and target shield.

its cool but youre better off going with the buckler or target shield ince you can actually block with them and they all have the same parry window(special parry) but be careful since it will get you bs'ed if you go up agaisnt a decent player since the nimation is so damn long.

The parrying dagger is a bit eh, plus vageta311 (I think) did a video on how the bucklers/parrying dagger affects the parrying times, and its only a very small amount about 600 milliseconds or something. The best way to parry katanas/spears and curved swords to an extent is to poise the first hit and parry straight after, you should hit the parry 10/10 times. With spears you CAN do a setup but you'll have to be really quick. Check Jblackmel's videos on parrying for more info I think it's Parrying 102 or Parrying 103 just check them.

If that's what you usually use (try saying that aloud three times). Yeah. Also sometimes using the buckler makes attempting parries with the hit and counter method fail so medium shields all the way.

It's my go to "shield" if I feel like using one. The only real reason to use it is for style.

As has been mentioned, it's no better than small shields like the buckler and target shield with the special parry. Also, that parry will get you bsed against a good player, and better ones will bait you into missing a parry then bs you. In terms of viability it's not worth it, but if you want to rock the style it's pretty cool.

they all have the same parry animation. i would go with a small and not a special shield, i love using the heater shield because of its fast parry which makes it eaier to pull off se up parries against reg swords, same with blind parries.
