Vamos - Define him! Empty Vamos - Define him!

Post by Djem Mon Dec 24, 2012 9:09 pm

What is Vamos exactly? He is still sane (Does not try to murder us) so he is not Hollow. But he does not really look Human either. Let's say he is a Skeleton, something different from Human or Hollow (just speculating) what makes him act different from every other Skeleton? Does he have Humanity? If he has Humanity, does that make him Human?

Edit: I did not mean to open this topic in the Dark Souls II section, but since we are already here, I might as well ask: Do you think we will find out which royal family Vamos belonged to in Dark Souls II?

Having humanity doesn't mean someone is human. Many chaos demons drop humanity when killed, maybe because the flame of chaos grows with humanity. I think Vamos might be the dwarf species of Lordran. Other than that, Nito is probably the one who brought him back to life. This should go to the Archives btw.

I think having more humanity just makes you more humane. Vamos has his wits, and almost acts like a human. As far as his race goes, I agree with Wyrm by saying he is probably a dwarf.

I believe I saw a dwarf in the image in the "released information" thread.

hes something revived by nito im guessing, probably of the same race as the dwarfish looking guy in the released conceot art, though its possible an obsession could reanimate a skeleton or at least break a necromancers control over said skeleton...

Oops, I did not mean to open this thread in the Dark Souls II section. But I added an Edit to make it more fitting to this section.

Also, you guys mainly think he belongs to another race, but even though he probably was kidding, I think Buggy Virus's theory is not that far off, considering the helm Vamos drops when killed.

I think it's another mystery that From put in to troll us. I really doubt that he's a 'dwarf' because From has repeatedly completely subverted the elf and dwarf races in their games.

I'm surprised that nobody has bothered to mention this yet...but... Vamos looks like a skeletonized version of Cthulhu. It seems like it could be a FromSoft/Miyazaki tribute to HP Lovecraft.

    Cthulhu:

^ I really don't think so, the only reason he slightly resembles Ctulhu is because of his weird bone-beard. But I think that was just added to stylize him rather than to resemble Ctulhu's tentacles.

Lol L2R all I said was it could be a tribute/it's where miyazaki/fromsoft drew inspiration from. I didn't say anything about Vamos being the same race as Cthulhu, so I don't think my suggestion is an unreasonable possibility at all.

I know how to read, since that is exactly what I was responding to. I also did not say anything about Vamos being the same kind as Cthulhu. I was saying that I don't think it's a tribute, or a reference, or was influenced from in that case.

About the dwarf of DkS2... Isn't he wearing a bell as a helmet? It doesn't sound dwarvish to me.

Well, you and I have just as little evidence of it being one way than the other. And I think the tentacle/bone beard similarity is too much to be a coincidence. It's either inspired by Cthulhu or by Zoidberg of Futurama (even less likely).

I was beginning to think I was the only one that noticed. I don't really care if he's a tribute to Cthulu or not, but last time I checked, Dwarves don't usually have tentacles on their faces.

He's definitely not a dwarf. All you guys speculating about that are way off base.

Look how jagged the end is. If you have a spine like that, go see a frigging doctor right the F now.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I'm agreeing with you. He clearly has tentacles or some sort of tentacle-like bones on his face and is therefore NOT a dwarf.

I also disagree with the Dwarf theories. Also about that picture of the allegedly Dwarf character from the new Dark Souls II concept arts, I don't have solid proof, but I think I heard somewhere one of the new directors confirmed that was not a Dwarf, but indeed lives underground.

Exactly, you can see the tied off rope or string that holds them together. Take a closer look, to anyone who still thinks there bones.
