Just finished Mass Effect 1
What an amazing story. I love the SiFi setting and the acting. After some time I got used to the gameplay and it's simple and fun. I went the whole playthrough with my sniper and my 2 comrades were always Wrex and Tali (instant love). Wrex was my tank with his shotgun and biotics and Tali my support/debuffer. Can't wait to begin ME2, but I'm still thinking if it's worth more playthroughs for the trophies.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
1>2>3 imo. 2 and 3 are more shooter and less rpg. Also, they're largely mission based Instead of the more open nature of 1. If you think me1 would be better if it were more like gears then you'll really like 2 and 3.
If you can't tell me who cerberus is and why their bad, you probably shouldn't play 2 yet. You'll be seriously lacking in perspective.

Only thing I know about Cerberus is that they're doing bad experiments. I didn't find any mission that led me to their leader.

You don't meet him. Check your codex, it might tell you more if you've met them. Essentially, they're pro human terrorists bent on galactic rule.
You know the kind of crap they do though, so you'll have an idea of why everyone hates them when they come up in 2 (and they do, a lot.) It gets explained in 2, but not till a ways in.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Honestly, Mass Effect 2 was probably my favorite. The class abilities got a much-needed boost, and the gameplay felt more natural to me. The story was pretty great too. I loved each game in the series (including the end to ME3. I can't fathom why people don't like it.)
All in all, it's a great series, and I recommend playing it all the way through.

Dude I love Mass Effect and everything about it. How do you like to play?
Im normally a Sentinel...Have been since ME! The survivability/ defensive aspect of the sentinel always makes for a solid commander character.

That seemed like such a hard class to manage. I took on the Vanguard class, just destroy everything in my path.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
It was a class based around micro managing you tech skills like Cryo Blast with shatter abilities like Warp.
But the really fun comes in the form of Tech Armour. You can lay waste to enemies with a shottie or pick them off with the Assault Rifle while wading through enemy fire (Think Space Marine)

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
I think I've tried every class except that one. I wasn't a big fan of the engineer or adept, so I saw that class was a combination of the two. I wasn't too excited to start one up. I may have to though, just to see what it's like.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Plus Sentinel sounds epic! I dont think I could ever play one of the other classes in the ME series.
Adepts are kinda lame because you have to be chaining you biotics, Soldiers are just shooters, Engineers are cool, the Stealth guys are okay but since the game lacks a real stealth system..., and Vanguards just arent my playstyle.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Yeah, Soldiers just aren't very innovative. They're more for the people who like straight-up shooter games anyway, so I at least understand why they are included. The other classes just weren't very exciting. I guess I like the Vanguard so much because it allows me to have the biotics and still let me take combat into my own hands (figuratively speaking.)

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
First game I chose Infiltrator, mostly because I wanted an engineer with a big gun (sniper). I mostly focused on the shooting since Tali was my full engineer. In ME2 I decided to go full engineer.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
GRRR one thing I hate about ME as a series is that while there are so many romance options, and I normally choose Tali because she is a badass (and because I knew she would be the best looking romance option with that mask off from the start), I feel like Im always diverging from the intended story by not romancing Liara...

I'm going for Tali too lol, but had too choose Liara for the trophy. Also I believe in unificating all the universe species so Liara was the first step to my plan lol.

I wish I could go back to the day that the only Mass Effect game I had played was Mass Effect.

My Vanguard was always Paragon (my character from all three games.)
I always made my Soldiers Renegade. I don't like being Renegade, it doesn't develop character the same way being Paragon does.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Ah, what a good game...I don't replay it since the massive dissapointment that (for me) was ME3 (and not only the ending) but I should give it another shot again.
ME2 is also very fun, and while I don't think the plot is as strong as 1 and the RPG elements are much weaker, it makes up with even better characterization and dialogues. I also loved its ending, it's epic, touching, and climatic.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
My personal favorite is ME2 though that's probably because I've never played the first and probably will not ever since I only have the PS3 and since I all ready own both ME2 and ME3, I see little reason to get the collection just for one game. ME3 was all right I guess though it was more mission based and less exploration, at least ME2 let you roam around in some places.
ME3's ending though I will say was absolutely terrible. When I saw it, I was dumbfounded on it and couldn't believe that was the end. I'd explain my opinion why a bit more but I don't wish to spoil anything story wise for those who haven't finished the game.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Im almost certainly a paragon.
ME2 was also my fav game Argetlam. It was mid way through the narrative. Wasnt the start, wasnt the end. And it had a distinctly Dirty Dozen/ Screaming Eagles/ Guns of Navarone feel, and I loved that.
Also I havent finished the game but I feel that the ending from what I hear is going to be good. Its not satifying, its not supposed to be. The Galaxy was ripped apart and you are holding what is left together is one decision of mommentous size.
I dont think you are supposed to feel good about the ending. It was the journey that was important.

Re: Just finished Mass Effect 1
Ya but my journey felt stale with the ending. Two endings, to me, are so called, bad endings because of certain future outcomes, and the only good ending has no logical sense to it to me, more magic then science to it which makes me unhappy. Again I'd try to explain more but I don't want to spoil anything. Put it bluntly, I was unsatisfied by it, I liked the journey but the ending to me just wasn't as good as I would of hoped, even the extended cut which really only filled in slight holes rather then change anything. Though it did add the ability to be an arse and do nothing for a fourth outcome.
