I have never actually went out to get myself a stone greataxe but i just read something that said it could be buffed. is this true? have any of you guys actually used a stone greataxe build? id love to hear of your experiences with it...

Q: whats more manly than a 7 foot tall giant axe made completely out of stone that has an R2 attack that creates an explosion?

    A: ??

I'm not positive if it can be buffed or not, but I think it can. It's a twinkling upgrade, I do know that much, which I could give or take. It's nice to not have to get a slab to upgrade it fully, but I also like being able to upgrade things according to my build, but I guess with a weapon that requires that much STR to use, I'd probably just be making it standard anyway. I don't have a SGA toon, but I've used it in PvP a few times with my STR toon. It's a lot like the regular GA, with a different moveset, but I've found its R2 to not be all that helpful. Just like when you fight the Stone Guardians, when you use it, it leaves you very opened to BS's, which most players will take you up on every time.

Doesn't make it a bad weapon, but personally, if I were going to use it, I'd probably go with the GA, or DGA, instead, for pretty much the same amount of power, more of a choice in upgrading, and less of a stat investment.

Sure man. I think the GA weighs less too, which is always a bonus. I've also definitely spent a good amount of time using it, and can say with certainty that it's worth investing in.

You could just use the demon great machete. better damage, range, r1's and with similar speed and stunlocking abilities. Or the zweih/greatsword with a 40/40, it will do less damage but it has useful r2 and jump attacks to offset the loss, the roll r1 (and r2 with the greatsword) is even boosted by the leo ring for a damage potential over 1000 in a single, unbuffed hit.

it definately is buffable, and the r2 techniques are almost worth the weight even without practice using them, the one handed r2 is a fast repeatable sweep (about 120 degrees on the right side) the two handed r2 is a smash then the explosion, which has excellent range and can send just about anyone fliying into the air.

Wow. Normally I think what Rosie does is pretty great, but IMO there's no excuse for attacking during a bow. Every time I see it done it subtracts one respect point from my perspective of whoever's doing it.

the only time i attack during some ones gesture is when i know they have a history of bow bs'ing, not sure about rosie, but the town ship has had quite a few people who run up, bow then hornet ring bs you as soon as you reciprocate, again i don't know the context, it may simply have been a part of the vid:| still though this vid is better than others on showing the fine points of the stone gaxe, the only other vid out there, the guy forgets to upgrade it, takes it to the arena and calls it crap (hes also a dex weapon afficianado with little big weapon experience.)

^ I thought the rest of the video was great, but I stand by what I said. I don't think there's any excuse. Two wrongs don't make a right. Pretty sure our parents teach us that when we're 5 for a reason.

I also loved the use of what I'm assuming was Iron Flesh. I've never really used that for PvP before, but this video has me considering it.

Now if I could just drag one behind me in each hand it'd be my favorite strength weapon.

Instead she should have said "The Truck attacks people when they bow, like a cheap ***"

Heh. I wouldn't be too harsh, but yeah, attacking someone while they're using a gesture is cheap PvP. Attacking while someone is buffing I can understand though.

i personally love it, it has the best move set out of all the greataxes, the only thing that kinda bugs me is how weaker it is compared to the DGA. its still a lot of fun to use.
