Trailer Guy = Oscar equivilant?

With all the talk surrounding the trailer, i was thinking....maybe these character we see are all NPC's including the knight we see *** **** up. I was thinking that the knight could be similar to Oscar, he's someone who starts your quest, or went on the quest before you and is now passing the torch to you.

I believe so. It makes sense and continues their trend.

Firstborn?

His resemblance to gwyn makes that a possibility imo.

I think he could be the firstborn myself or possibly a character we already know in the Dark Souls Series.

Yeah, I support the idea that the knight we see is Oscar 2.0 .

Souls seem to like their important characters.. Though I think personally he'll be more like the games equivalent to solaire or Ostrava with a proper story unfolding rather than oscar

Maybe, it all depends on the relationship to the woman in the trailer. From what i can see she's wearing a pyromancy cloak.

It is a big possibility.

True, but Furry Templar armor looks even better.

I like the armour aswell i just hope that him taking arrows and throwing them to the ground doesn't mean that the damage modifiers in the game will be more lenient.

Firstborn is what i would say as well, being the firstborn seems like a great way to go through the world, cast out and fighting for vengeance.

off topic: Ostrava is the best NPC ever (of the Souls series). Right at the top along Solaire. Though they both lack something the other has, Solaire needs real encounters/events, not just you finding him and he saying some words. Somekind of fight, where he helps you, or viceversa. But not as phantom, but in your actual world. On the other hand, it would have been awesome if Ostrava helped you the way Solaire does, though summon signs were not implemented that way in Demon's Souls (offline signs), we still saw Biorr of the Twing Fangs helping us a lot.

on-topic: I believe that there is a chance that the knight in the trailer is the Firstborn. Now, whether or not he represents the same role Oscar did on Dark Souls is another story, I mean, passing the torch, telling you his quest, and giving you the chance to finish it.

They are 2 different things.

Knight in the trailer being the firstborn = 60% of chance

Knight in the trailer representing the same role as Oscar = 20% of chance

Now, why is more probable that the knight is the firstborn than he representing the same role as Oscar? Well, we see in the cinematic that he is a VERY important character, because he talked to who we suppose is Velka. That means he is no random guy, he is an important guy, and as such, the chance of him being the firstborn, it's higher. I think that we might meet him and/or follow his steps, in Dark Souls 2. But NOT that he will be the guy you meet dying, who previously ventured around the world, and is telling you to finish his quest. He will probably be a guy we follow/want to know about. Not a guy we directly talk to.

It wouldnt be an NPC we know of correct? I think itd be an awkward move if we were playing a character and not our self made character like the other souls games. I could be reaching, but actual NPCS seems unlikely and unreal to me for a protagonist.

The woman is not Velka. She has brown hair. Velka is a black haired witch. Sure he's important, but so is Oscar if you know his story.

Does anyone have an oppinion on the artwork on the hero's helmet?
I think it's fairly significant, as it looks to be implying he is a 'dragon slayer' of soughts.

if hes talking to velka could it be lauctric? before he gained her favor?

Does anyone else fin it extremely unlikely they would make us a named NPC that we have already met? It would kill character customization and personality completely.

It's this right here that kinda makes me think if our character, or the one in the trailer whatever his role is, actually survived linking the flame of something.

When his eyes shoot open, you can see flickering lights on his face that look to me like fire.

I dunno, just throwing out ideas lol.
