    Some speculations Empty Some speculations

Post by Alocas Wed Dec 12, 2012 8:06 pm

    Alrigth everyone.

So, first of all, I'm pumped and worried for this sequel (?) at the same time. Everybody on here said why. Thus I will not go into detail much. I just hope that they don't say: Screw the fans, we need sales! But rather invite new players to check out what made the last two Souls games so great while updating (some of the) things, all the people on these forums were hoping for.

Don't forget your roots FROM, please.

Enough of that. We will need to wait for more information anyway.

What I am really curious about: Why has nobody (I've seen) tried to link the DLC and the new game yet?

I mean. Kalameet. Last (official) Dragon, New area of Lordran or another part of the universe (a new land) that was Oolacile and became Darkroot. Chester - I mean CHESTER!!!

Why did nobody notice the similarities of Chester and these assassin dudes in the trailer trying to kill the protagonist? Black clothing, white masks, a lot of belt buckles across the outfit. And daggers...

Seems perfectly fitting. To my mind, the DLC wasn't just some add on to the first DkS but also an introduction of how the whole universe is connected and what to expect from a new game.

The dragon has been there, the time-travelling and time-distortion elements were introduced, heck, Chester even admits, he and the Chosen Undead being pulled in from a different time and that they are strangers to this land. So what if Chester really IS from another land not linked to Lordran directly. Maybe another kingdom like Berenike, Carim, stuff we haven't seen so far. We have no clue, if he even came from the same time as the Chosen Undead in DkS. He could have been pulled in from a totally different period of time. That would have been the best teaser for a sequel they could have come up with. Especially since one would need to figure this out. Like you had to with almost the whole storyline. I would appreciate if the DLC would also hint at some of the things to come with DkS II.

Other things, I spotted in the trailer were the flesh of the dragon(s) (look at the trailer, about 40 seconds in, the girl standing on the mountain, looking at the castle in the distance. There is two dragons flying around!) that is practically rotten. If you look closely at the ending part of the trailer, the dragon seems to have not really 3 but one real eye. I can only spot one though. Which is the one in the middle. The other eye sockets seem to be empty. Even if that would not be the case, its flesh looks torn or as if it was coming loose. I wonder why.

Also the protagonist seems to be in constant fear of being attacked. As if he expected to be attacked. The way he turns in the beginning of the trailer seemed almost paranoid.

Oh, and the sizzling blood... Does that mean that the ground is so hot, blood begins boiling... How could they even stand there. Maybe the protagonist contains a flame of his own, that makes his blood boil and leads to the immortality (coming back from the dead) because, I saw no indication of bonfires in the trailer and the character seems to die more than once! (The assassins hurt him enough to go to his knees, probably dying at the last few seconds of the trailer, yet he also gets fried by the fire of the dragon at the end... not possible without returning from the dead.)

What do you think about this?

By the way, I'm not sure if this is a prequel or a sequel, or even both. I think we really miss more information currently.

I'm also amazed how nobody seems to have noticed the similarity of the new protagonist guys armor and the one Solaire had. I think the color scheme is quite similar.

I'm looking forward to your ideas. Some speculations 945058907

I'm hoping the blood sizzling is a message that the new game will make our blood boil.
Concerning the dragons, they don't appear rotting to me, however, I'm sure we can both agree that they are not everlasting stone dragons.

Oh and your dlc connection is a very fresh perspective, perhaps there is some truth there. I mean your analysis of Chester being from a different land does make one think that the developers were sending a message with him.

I like the theory of the DLC being a big plot device for the sequel.

Since time travel is possible in DkS (as seen in the DLC), perhaps the remaining 'Gods' send the hero back to rescue the flame and restore the Age of Fire?
As you mentioned, the hero looks to be paranoid - as if he is being hunted. Perhaps the Dark Lord, or other humans, want the Age of Dark to remain, and they have dispatched assassins to stop the hero?

I can't wait for more info to be released about the game so all our nonsensical speculations can be quashed lol

To me, the man in the trailer looks a bit familiar. Look at his armor. Maybe remove the helmet and replace it with a crown.
    Notice yet?

Interesting, very interesting perspective on Chester that i really like. Also the theory behind the sizzling blood and how it reacted to the ground was compared to Manus. Some people believe its from having so much humanity that he was becoming a dark soul ie. just like how Manus was formed.

The blood seeming acidic I believe is directly linked to the Primordial Soup theory I posted here https://soulswiki.forumotion.com/t15104-analysis-series-dark-souls-intro-truths-reveled
Long story short if what I'm speculating is true holding too much Humanity/Dark Soul starts to change what you are.

For example, they say Manus' Humanity went wild and the result was tons of corrosive acidic "Dark" of the abyss (reference Artorias Armor). It seems that this "Dark" has a negative effect when it comes into contact with other evolutionary beings (Oolicle citizens) and when to much is held on the person themselves (Manus form when we fight him).

The blood sizzling on the ground is just because at that specific time in the trailer the knight is in the Fire/Lava area.

That could be, but it's hard to tell exactly where he is at that moment in the trailer since it moves around a lot. It does then cut to his eye from which it looks like he might be standing in front of a fire (the first flame? Proving what you're saying)... So it could be who knows, I still stick by what I said above though =)

Most interesting part to me, is the "without hope, without light" quote, I Imagined that you are seeking your own light. If it is a sequel then I would assume your one of the remaining undead, and on the dawn of the dark lord, light has been ripped form existence and the last bit lies in some land (lordran perhaps?) and you are going to retrieve it. Those masked guys could be worshippers of the dark lord who condemn all things light.
