One of the directors, I believe it was Shibuya, said that the guy in the trailer stabbing up dudes was the main hero.
Something I've noticed with From Software' games, they don't make your actual character too important. Like in Evergrace, one of their older games, you were just someone who arrived in this strange world overrun by monsters and you were just basically surviving the whole game while reading a tad bit on what happened.
Also the Armored Core series, you were just another AC pilot who jsut happened to be really damn good living in the times.
Anyway, my point is, I believe their going to do what I've been explaining with your character in this game. You're gonna make your guy/girl and start off, but you'll meet the guy in the trailer, and you'll do stuff with him, help him out ect. But he's gonna be the one to get the real...'credit' for the lack of a better word. Like they did with the DLC story, you did all that stuff but Artorias got the credit for it.
Either that...or they're just doing the whole "This guy represents the main character" thing, like with Oscar in Dark Souls, and the Fluted Knight in Demon's.
I'm a bit bad at wording my thoughts sometimes, so this might be a bit hard to comprehend. But let me know what you guys think!
Of course, this is just speculation and yadda yadda, I know just as much as you guys.
