I believe it has the longest reach of the spear weapons and it inflicts lightning damage. Play with it. See if you like it, at least for a while.Upgradable to +5.

Any spear is good. Demon Spear has the longest reach if I remember correctly, so it could be potentionally the best one.

Damage is not really the factor in spears, it's the range and fast recovery. If you are patient with spear, your opponent is going to tear his/her hair off from frustration.

I'm using Silver Knight Spear with my Dex build and have great results with it. Demon Spear may be longer, but has very bad R2, while R2 of SKS is actually good.
I'm thinking about trying Pike and Partizan soon.

Demon's spear is a great weapon based solely on its length and R1 jabs. SKSS is good too, it's not as long but the 2HR2 procs lag extremely well.
One thing though- you should only ever use a spear if you are willing to be labelled a tryhard. Most people don't take kindly to spear users and will instantly use it to justify playing as dirty as possible (healing mid-fight, chain hornet BSing, TWOP).

There's something about spears that really bug me. People say that they have decent to great reach but i can't see that as the case. Spears always backfire on me even when i'm using it the way it should be used. Maybe it just isn't my kind of weapon.

and i 2 hand most of the time so if that want to call that cheap than, whose the bigger man ^_^

Demon spear, silver spear, dragon slayer spear, moonligh spear are basicly the same thing
just pick one depends on your stat
quality build -> demon, dex only-> silver, dex and faith-> DSS
and under no circumstance in pvp should you use R2 on any spear
you will just end up being backstab

I keep a demons spear on every character, though I use it mostly to fight spear users.
If you have 40 dex though, I'd stick with the silver knight spear.

Because it's split damage, it doesn't work very well with the leo ring, which may not be a priority for everyone, but if I'm going to be using a poking weapon it's a priority for me. It's also a twinkling upgrade, which I could give or take. I recommend the Pike instead. Aside from being favored, IMO, by both of those other facts, it has a really fun and functional moveset.
