Ikr? The first few days of the DLC I was human in the cave, figured it wouldn't matter, then all of a sudden this fat red thing popped up RIGHT in front of me!
Needless to say I freaked the ef out, thankfully I was able to escape.
I can't imagine why someone would pick there, of all places. It's rediculous!

This area was extremely active when the DLC launched. I had a level 70 Darkmoon and the blue eye orb had a much higher success rate than usual. Probably 7/8 invasion attempts found a host.
I consider this cave and the bridge to ceaseless discharge to be the two silliest places to invade.

It's very slow there, but summons and invasions are possible.
I think most people are used to not seeing activity there. It has had the highest ratio of AFK players I've encountered.

I've got summoned there only ONCE over several hundreds of hours in Dark Souls and it had to prearranged. No wonder your summon is afk.

I invaded there once, got blown away by a mage. All those spells in that small space was pretty hard to deal with. Especially with all of those vines and roots obstructing your vision. So I left LOL

It's a really bad spot to invade in given how hard it would be to dodge things like spears, magic, and AoE attacks.
It'd be a hilarious place to gank as you could have a tank in the front, a spear guy behind him and a caster behind the spear guy. It's almost as good as camping the bridge in Royal Wood.
