    Dual wielding Empty Dual wielding

No doubt most of us are anxious on news regarding dual wielding being made viable. It is less than incompetent in Dks and the current system does have space for improvement. This thread is merely to discuss your hopes for the system or to express your pessimism about it.

Need it! I think they should add new combos especially with duel wielding, with all the weapons in the souls series, there should be a ton of variety of how to use these weapons. Duel wielding i hope is even better than Demons Souls.

As long as they don't completely phase out sheilds because "Duel Weilding LOL!", I honestly don't care. Sword and Board all the way!

i think it is an awesome idea, as long as they don't make the sword and shield combo obsolete

I already run around with the Parry Dagger or a curved sword I.E. the Scimi or the PGsword it adds that extra umph and nobody expects an offhand slash and really keeps the other player honest winking

Edit: But in DkS2 I would LOVE to see more viability for it (:

I hope dual wielding will be a significant trait to fighting. Maybe a system like

    1-handed sword - 100% speed/100% power

    double-handed sword - 70% speed/130% power

    dual-wielding sword - 130% speed/ 70% power

give it a chaining system rather than a power to speed ratio, people ALWAYS find a way to exploit they

Make it where you can do the combo in the left hand and for the strong attack you hold down L1/LB and so you still have parry, and I think they should make 2h dagger parries, honestly that would help a lot, make dual wielding like the tracers but with more options.

I'm not crazy about combos from a single command, like they did with the left-handed Gold Tracer. It's cool and all, but it doesn't have the same tight, controlled feeling of normal Souls combat to me. I actually enjoy dualing with Scimitars more, even though it only has one offensive move in the left, it's a quick move and doesn't leave you open.

I enjoy dual wielding, and I hope the left hand gets a unique moveset, but I'd prefer it wasn't a 3-swing combo type thing.

I think they should also allow you to choose which is your main hand.

Lots of ideas...all need alot of ironing out. But my 2 cents. Dual wielding should NOT allow parrying for one unless a few specific weapons like parry dagger. Dual wielding should NOT allow blocking either. It needs to have a new moveset of course for the off hand, and the idea of CHOOSING your main hand would be a nice touch. And it would add flare to combat.

I think the damage should be affected though, the off hand, be it chosen or left still, the off hand should do less damage. Nothing ridiculous, but it is your off hand..

And i don't like the "auto combo" weapons do. I like control. When a weapons attack strings itself into a combo that i can't seem to get out of...i don't use them. So i'd like to see that removed, but thats questionable. And more an opinion...but i strongly think its a bad mechanic.

Agreed, they should not have blocking with duel wielding, perhaps parrying with certain weapons like daggers etc. Im basing that duel wielding will primarily consist of lots of dodging and quick attacks as in demons.

no, no, you must be confused. Dual wielding in demons consisted of dual uchi's and stunlocking.

I am assuming they are using a very similar format in this game as the others. So it primarily will be based around stun locking, same with other weapons etc. Or mass dodging, if they throw in a diff combat concept that doesent involve poise at all, then we will see. Other than that we cannot say how specifically it might work.

Such auto combos would make this style completely useless un PvP : wait for him to unleash his attacks, roll, backstab. Rince and repeat.

Dual wielding would be great if they implement a hard-but-doable parrying system with some off hand weapons and if they scale the pushback just right.
