I'm guessing you ran in and grabbed the armor set that makes him get angry and attack you already right?
If you did, then this will be a lot easier. Walk into the fog gate, and just stand right there. Right by the fog that appears behind you, and wait for him. If you haven't gotten the Gold Hemmed Set, and made him angry yet, then you'll have to do that first, and then sprint back to the fog. At any rate, once he's pissed off and coming for you, and you're by the fog gate and waiting, he'll come towards you, but when he starts to get close he'll stop and lunge at you, and trip and fall and reach out his hand to steady himself on the edge of the cliff right near where you're standing. Once that happens throw everything you've got at his hand. You only need to take about 1/3 of his health, and he'll let go, fall, and die.
