Got rid of my xbox for a PS3 w/ demon's souls and dark souls!!!! I can finally have a legit pvp experience!

Just got rid of my xbox and 20+ games along with a bunch of accessories and got a new PS3 w/ demon's souls and dark souls!!!! I'm so excited that I can finally have legit pvp experiences.

Just curious, what makes the PS3 experience more "legit"?

I've put in about 300 hours on the Xbox (and the same number on PS3), and I've never heard of anything involving a "save editor". I guess people will exploit anything if it's there.

no since i never had an Xbox (but still i got one on my birthday this year)

i had a PS3 for a long time and i love it...still thought almost no Brazilians have a PS3 at least everyone i know in real life only have Xbox :/


there has been found a way to mod a PS3 however only a few people do that

Don't know bout anyone but i trust PSN more than i trust Xbox Live i just...don't trust microsoft that much...*casts flame shield*

and since PSn is free i don't have to worry about not paying...god knows i'd forget to pay To pay Xbox live and then i would wonder why my account would not login on it

i haven't had any issues on the 360. Personal preference I guess.

I see a lot of griefers using the BB glitch to get high level gear then hang around the Parish like schoolyard bullies. I built a low level Cleric just to hang out and help people there. Only level 29 and I have the WoG and great lightning spear...had to crawl down into the ToG without warp to get the WoG. I only ever use it for coop though. Same garbage every time...circling for the lagstab. I wish these tools realized what a cliche they are.

Nice one, dunno why it takes a need for legit PvP to get you to swap, for me being a guy who is soon to be poor as anything when i go to uni the free internet is the seller.

i know it got stuff stolen my account i used got stolen buuut im back in it

you know that hapenned on the xbox too and it was even worse actually,or so thats what i read from my friends that got an xbox

If you like From Software's style, I recommend their early stuff, even though the graphics show their age. King's Field 1 and 2 can be had pretty cheap and there are walkthroughs online. The original KF never came out to America, but there's an English patch done by a fan.

There's also the Shadow Tower series which is similar to KF, but not as popular. I wish there was a PS2 emulator on SEN (PSN) so that I could play the last KF on my PS3, but there's also the Echo Night series.

I've wanted an XBOX for Otogi (by FromSoftware) and their other exclusives.

My favorite PS3 exclusives: Demon's Souls, Twisted Metal, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, 3D Game Dot Heroes, Dead Nation (I've played this one a ton), Disgaea 4 (haven't played but looks good), God of War series (first one is still my favorite, though), Ico/Shadow of the Colossus (HD collection), Metal Gear Solid series (HD), Devil May Cry HD collection coming up, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (not out yet, of course, but...), The Last of Us (looks good! , Uncharted 2 (maybe -- not the biggest fan of it like others are), Infamous 2, Killzone 2, Spelunker HD (can't remember if this is exclusive), Siren: Blood Curse (might appeal to fans of Tower of Latria), Valkyria Chronicles, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, and Last Guardian (whenever it comes out). Probably forgetting a few, but was looking through a list.

You can emulate ps2 on older ps3 consoles, not the slim ones. Slim is basically for people who only insert the BD and play/watch. The older big one is alot better since 4 usb/ps2 emulation/linux support/card reader.
There is also Final Fantasy X and X-2 comming soon as HD Remake on ps3.

Xbox is for casuals and kids. That's the console which most adults hate. It's slowly destroying video games industry just because fat Microsoft was jealous of Sony. Worst of all console has the biggest sales because modern games are made for kids only and if they're about to be multiplatform, they're are downgraded to the technically worst platform, so it can run it = xbox.

There aren't any PS2 emulators. The emotion chip from the PS2 is actually built into the older BC PS3's. Also, if you want to game online they got rid of Linux support.

Does noone care about the fact that PS3 can support PS1 games? I love that since i lost all my old memory cards :|

also don't see the point in HD rerelease of final fantasy X and X-2 (though i love 'em) i'd rather square enix use their time on bringing their series back under control and out of the horrendous downward spiral it is in.

I have dks for both Xbox and ps3 and my online experience is always awesome on the ps3 host and invaders joke around but it never happens on Xbox in my experience

@aceluby I meant that the older ps3 can emulate ps2 games just like all of them emulate ps1 games. I don't know about the linux support right now but I'm pretty sure you can still have psn access and use linux.

@Serious Much ofcourse I do care about ps1 titles. The only thing that pisses me off is that american psn has all the titles I want, and I can't have them in europe which is stupid. But still I'm playing Parasite Eve 2, Soul Reaver, Abe's Odysee, Front Mission 3, FF7-9 and many more up until today The one I'm missing the most is RE3 and Dino Crisis. That's the best times of my childhood.

oh well, illegal download and emulation on your computer then, iv done that and it's good

my brother's even got a gamecube one working on his to play gotcha force

What I'm telling you is that PS2 games aren't emulated as emulation is software. The PS2 chip is inside the old PS3's meaning hardware and is why newer PS3's w/out the chip can't run PS2 games. Old PS3's actually are PS2's as well. No emulation. PS1 games are emulated which is why all PS3's can play PS1 games.

As for Linux support, they took it away 6 months or a year ago. I just updated my BC PS3 because it was recently fixed that had Linux on it. During the upgrade phase it told me that if I install the upgrade the 'other OS' option would no longer be there. I had to re-partition my drive to use the 10GB I set aside for Linux. You can't upgrade w/out agreeing to this and can't get on the PSN w/out upgrading.

Also, you can create an american PSN account so you have access to the downloads you want.

the only reason why I kept my original xbox is for otogi since the 360 does not play them
