    Okay, so now that we have a confirmed sequel/prequel (whatever it is...). I think we have a perfectly good excuse to generate a topic discussing our hopes, dreams, despairs and nightmares.

    So, let's start:

    What do you think they'll be doing in this next game? Do you think they'll work that all rings are equal; will they work in amulets to serve as covenant items instead? Will they keep or alter the covenant system? Will they keep a PVP arena or will they focus more on the invading concept and make the community organize? What will they do with the spell casting system? and etc,etc. Let's not make this post a bunch of questions, discuss to your heart's content.

    Well From said before dks1 was released that they hated dlc... fans biitched and cried for dlc so they gave it to them, Fans cried about the game being to hard and some things were op , so they made a patch where enemys give you double souls and venders sell more things in more places for the people who cried IE: originally only velka and the sealer in new londo were the only ones who could break curses, after the update they had the female merchant selling purging stones. And with the "Easy mode" topic in the air that from talked about also makes me nervous. They went from bringing out patches to fix bugs immediately in demons souls to having a patch every 6 months that both makes the game easier and fixes the bugs.
    The trailer dosent tell me that its going to be action based, i actually liked the trailer and how it looked! Im just nervous because of from's actions since dks1 released and from some of the stuff they talked about in interviews overtime.

    What I'd like to see most is a hybrid PvP system. Both a "let the community organize" and a specific "PvP dedicated zone". Perhaps have one of the covenants, for example I would say something like the forest hunters, have a zone. Better yet, have a gladiator style covenant that is all about duels to the death and renown to those who win many fights and have a leader board and ranking and such. This would add something for the more hardcore players but let the newbies get their feet wet fighting one another.

    This is simply because one of the difficulty with this sort of game is how hard it is to get new players engrossed in the PvP. I've come a long way PvE wise, but going up against people who have been fighting PvP for months is extremely challenging. There should be something in place that helps the less experienced be able to play amongst themselves.

    Furthermore, this wouldn't really detract from the community set up PvP, as those like the Darkwraiths and Darkmoon could still be played like normal.

    It's interesting there isn't a single shield in the whole trailer, it could be a statement they're stepping away from the whole honorable knight role. Also the several scene's duel wielding leaves me hopeful they'll rework the left hand right hand system in some way to allow fluid attacks.

    The big question is what do we think the addition of Tomohiro Shibuya of monster hunter as the director will mean for the game with Miyazaki just "overseeing" production of the game. We can hardly even go by the trailer since it's at best entirely cut scenes and more than half the cut scenes from the original Dark Souls trailer where scraped.

    It seems like we're wandering into the catacombs folks but I certainly hope patches will treat us well...

    I just hope the covenent system is revamped and we get more of a anti ganking method of PvP, the forest is a joke and it is better if they get rid of that gank fest.

    You may have a point, it's hardly difficult to understand. Maybe they'll turn it into a fps.

    We could always do a petition again just to let them know that straight forward story telling would weaken the game and making the game more accessible would in fact make the game inaccessible for gamers that enjoy the challenge, plus weaken the current community to help each other. The fact that we talk stats, tactics and praise each other for taking part and completing challenges brings us together in a very positive way.

    I'm just curious to see how they will approve upon the Demon's/Dark Souls formula. As long as the gameplay is kept intact and improved upon I will be happy, as I'll get to explore completely new areas all over again with the gameplay I love.

    From Software story telling gave us a puzzle game the whole community could play together when we put our controllers down. By layering it in the background, it allowed everybody to experience it at their own pace. Sometimes stories are best told that allow space for your imagination to fill in the pieces but to also experience it at your own pace and time. I can't think of any story telling I've come across that is more engaging than this and even after you have done with the bulk of it, you can't help but crave more to give that rush of imagination once again.

    I hope they keep to the Dark Souls/Demon Souls formula!
    I've already had Dead Space 3 ruined for me by it's "I'm an action co-op shooty fest! Oh and I can be a little scary..." way too sell out Dead Space.. -_-

    So here's hoping they stick to their guns and don't sell out on this one!
    And the Publishers needs to keep their nose out until From gives THEM the thumbs up!

    Wait why a new directer? What was wrong with the one that did demons souls or dark souls? Straight forward storyline? wtf is this? Everywhere i read they mention "A new hero" Are they saying we will be playing as one guy? Dont fix whats broken man... Was the last directer broken or something?     Errm Tomohiro Shibuya was the director of Monster Hunter, a series which is more hardcore than the Souls series easily, if anyone was going to replace Miyazaki who seems to have not wanted to be the game to be released at all by the sounds of his interviews after the DLC, I couldn't think of anyone better.
    I remember after Dark Souls was announced all the DeS fanatics said it would be dummed down and fail in those forums, I'm not counting anything until I've seen the gameplay, combat and changes if anything they make to it.

    Yeah now that ive calmed down from my ranting. I do recall being a huge fan of monster hunter and resident evil outbreak (re outbreak being single handedly my favorite game of all time when it was still online) Monster hunter was a very challenging game, was it as challenging as demons/dark? not in my opinion but very challenging none the less.
