I keep getting garden-variety Darkwraith while Gravelording at high levels

My toon is around SL180, on NG+++++. Is this just the nature of the beast, or is there something a person can do to keep Darkwraiths off your back while you Gravelord? Not that I mind being invaded, but I keep wasting Eyes of Death on these jokers. Although I did have both a DW and a Spirit of Vengeance invade at the same time. They seemed to want to fight each other, so I let them go at it. SoV died first, so I got an EoD. I love the concept of Gravelording, but the mechanics seem a tad wonky.

as long as your eye of death is active you are open to any sort of invader, i think it puts you at the top of the list for invasions in what ever lobby you're in at the moment. also because darkwraiths invade up and spirits of vengeance are bound by your level, you're more likely to get invaded by every darkwraith in your area while only those near 180 can invade through your gravelord sign.

So the DW's that invade could be low or high level, depending on which one the game selects?

No wonder you don't see many people Gravelording. Maybe I need to use the Eye, then go hide someplace using Chameleon until I get a proper invasion.

Where are you gravelording? Makes a pretty big difference. Also I'm not sure how many people are going through the game around your level. I imagine very few are still PvEing at 180.

If you're content just spreading as much misery as possible, and are an evil bastard, chill out at Paladin Leroy's invasion spot and use your gravelord sign. Know that every time your white summon stone dims without a corresponding invader, you've just made the game almost impossibly hard for some poor fool attempting to reach Nito. Red phantom skeledogs don't play around.

If you want more Gravelord-focused/spirit of vengeance pvp, you may want to consider a new toon. I have plenty of fun in the Burg and at the Darkroot bonfire around sl 120.
