by nhbdy Sun Dec 02, 2012 4:39 amI'm building a dex/pyro build for some PvP and RPing (love the pyromancers in this game) and... well I'm frankly not sure which boss weapon to make quelaag's soul into, I've used em both in the past for PvE and had my fun, but never really had a completed dex based PvP build, so I'm not sure how these weapons stack up against eachother, any and all opinions are appreciated, and I'd prefer the reasoning behind why one would be better than the other.

I'd go with Chaos Blade.
It does take 20 HP per hit, but it's the strongest Katana, if you're going Dex only, It has very good reach and since it's a bit curved, it also does good dead angles. So it's good for PvP, but it's bad for PvE, because with the number of enemies you'll slay, that 20 HP loss will get really nasty with time.
Furysword is also good, but does less damage and it's split damage may result in really dissapointing results in PvP, however it's pretty good for PvE, unless local enemiea are resistant to fire. Also, with it's moveset, for a Dex build, I guess using a Gold Tracer, or a Falchion (if you don't have DLC) will give you better results. It is also a good idea to pack something else than fire damage stuff, in case your enemy is fire resistant, or uses Black Knight's Shield, or Flash Sweat.

Chaos blade, it just looks cooler then quelaags sword. It is arguably better also, since you have kick it bleeds them out fast and does great damage with decent dex and 10humanity.

....or you can make a weapon I guess. I always preferred the Fury sword over the chaos sword. I like the fire effect whenever you swing it.

The chaos sword does some pretty meaty damage in PvP but isn't great for taking on mobs unless you've got a massive stack of hp
The furysword isn't particularly strong for PvP but rocks in PvE
An uchi or an iato with some charcoal pine resin would be pretty cool if you're going for the flame effect on a dex build. Or PGS, basically looks like a little fireball with resin because it's so tiny, preeeety cool
