    Dark Magic Testing. People required. PSN

    first and for most this will be done on PSN. we already know Dark Magic scales in damage with Str, but the point of this test is to see if the str alters more Physical damage to the magic damage. to get solid testing and understand these are the builds that we will require.

    16 str, 50int (i have this build)
    50 str, 16int
    50 str, 50int.
    Great Magic Barrier build.

    then what we will do is test Dark Orb from all 3 of those builds with different catalysts, shooting into Havels shield and Crystal Ring shield, as they both have 90% Magic block, but have different different Physical damage blocks. This will tell us if one is doing more physical damage or not. And then of course Great Magic Barrier.

    so if you are willing to do some testing, are on PSN let me know. the closer to SL100 the better, though i understand a 50/50 build will be much higher then SL100, but that isn't an issue as long as we can still summon.

    I'd be interested in this. I'll see what i have to play with, not at my ps3 right now. I got a few that may be close to work with. I hope you find testers. This would be good info to have. I'll be checking after work to see if you got any takers.

    Rosie did a test with different catalysts and such but I'm interested in seeing how it goes against shields and the actual physical aspect of the spell.

    i am aware, but we know str scales magic damage, but we want to know how much of the dark magic is actually physical with high strength.

    we have users saying their Dark magic still hits high numbers against people with GMB, and other users say GMB nullifies Dark magic to the point of chip damage. so we want to see exactly how much str changes the spell to deal physical.

    I'm on PSN and have a str build I could scale up to 50 str / 16 int pretty easily. I think he also has the DLC spells; will have to check on the manus catalyst. Psn befowler

    you can hold the shields. havels can be 2 handed i believe if you don't have 50 str, that shouldn't effect the blocking does it?

    i have a 40 dex 16 int build we can test against the 40 str/16int also just to see how much damage increase the 40str is over the 40 dex, then compare the damage increase to the physical damage split.

    No biggie, I tend to "graduate" my midlevel coopers upwards once they hit 99 humanity, so this guy was due for a bump anyway. Plus if these spells operate like we suspect they do, a 50 str / 16 int guy using a buffed giant club and manus catalyst dark magic could be comically broken. I look forward to finding out for sure, just let me know when you guys plan to run tests.
