As you may, or may not know, Force can repel incoming projectiles.
To my big suprise, this applies almost on every projectile attack in the game. Yes, even magic.

I was invading in Depths at low SL, just to annoy people. I had two stacks of Force, just to push people around and annoy them. I invaded a host with a phantom, both were casters and we met at the invader spawn point, close to the rats with the key to the bonfire room. In the heat of trolling the host, his phantom was dealing with the rats. While I was throwing the host around like a Jedi, his phantom shot a Heavy Soul Arrow at me in the exact time I used Force. This resulted in me, repeling the spell back at it's user and him dying.
    :eye-death: ___ :eye-death:

He could've been killed by one of the rats, because me and host were up the stairs there, while he was still down. So, I can't say for sure, that he was killed by the spell, but it sure hit him.

I've went to test this with Logan in Archives. Except for White Dragon Breath I could repel anything he used at me, although I didn't manage to hit him with this repelled spell. After that I've went to try it at PvP and it worked suprisingly well. Force repelled any single projectile. Soul Spears, Soulmasses, Dark Bead, Pursuers (works better than Silver Pendant), Lightning Spears, Fireballs (the explosion still got me though).

It didn't work on White Dragon Breath and Firestorms.

I would love if somebody could test this, as my experiences were in actuall PvP. I can't guarantee same resluts, as lag could've played some minor, or major factor in my attempts.

For those that know about this already, I have a question.

It could've been just a coincidence, but if it wasn't, can a spell, or any projectile, repelled by Force damage others, perhaps even those that used that repelled projectile attack?

Force bounces any spell. Its really hard to get the angle right but you can reflect stuff back at the caster. I think projectiles are the same though I'm not 100% on that one.

Yes, it is amazing. I feel that it's more effective than WoTG. I only ever use my miracles as support magic so blasting pests away and annoying the piss out of them is glorious!

I'm glad it's a known thing then. I was asking, simply beacuse I was wondering, what happens if you Force Dark bead up close. I wasn't able to time it right and always missed so far. But if it could be done and it could damage the caster... lol!

I wonder if WoG has the same effect, but with only 3 cats it's difficult to try.

Force, Wrath of the Gods, and the Dragon Roar all reflect proectiles.
Reflected projectiles also seem to do more damage.

AHA! So I can reflect spells back in someone's face?
If so I am going to learn the timing to repel DB, that will piss people off soooo much. :face:

How hard is the timing? This could really be viable if the lag is not too much of an issue.

I believe its pretty easy to reflect with practice, but nigh impossible to reflect. Remember the caster wont stand still and get hit, you have to angle the deflection so it runs into them, accounting for lag.

In PvE it's fairly easy, but you have to watch the distance or you get hit head on.

In PvP, with the latency, distances and lag, it's pretty hard, at least for me.

Generally, if a guy is casting Soul Spear, or any other long range spell at you from at least medium distance, you need to cast Force as you see him finish casting the spell. It's like timing a parry.

But to repel Dark Bead up close, I guess you'd have to hit the Force exactly as he starts casting, which is pretty hard to time and if you fail, you'll most likely die. That's the reason why I can't manage to succesfully repel DB from up close. I'd need a sparring partner for this, but it's better to ask someone here to test it, as you guys have experience with testing stuff in the game already.

Also, you must take lag and casters movement into account, but with close up Dark Bead, you should be able to hit him with at least few orbs. If it doesn't do any damage, it would still be a decent way to defend against magic, not to mention pretty badass, but if it does damage to the caster, then... :face:

Logically to repell dark bead up close should be impossible. At point blank range, it reaches you in 0.1 seconds at most, so it would require genuinely perfect accuracy.

At least I don't feel so bad about not being able to do it now. happy

You can also reflect special weapon attacks, including the moonlight greatsword explosion.

Only weapon effect i couldn't reflect was golem axe and Dragons Greataxe.

    You can even reflect combustion.

I'm so looking forward to my faith build. This seems like a great way to have fun.

I've never really dabbled in either school of "magic".

That's gotta be hard to time as well. I managed to reflect Great Chaos Fireball, it repelled, but the explosion still got me.
