If you had a low level character with 11 str and 12 dex, and had to choose two weapons, one for 2-handed use and one for 1-handed use, which would you pick. Right now the 'ol trusty Longsword has been serving me well one-handed, and I've been liking the Partizan for 2-handed use.

What would be your pick for 1-handed and 2-handed weapons with these stats?

Wow, you're really going at it with the threads, huh.
I'd would go for the Reinforced Club or Hand Axe for 1h, the Halberd or Scythe (halberd) for 2h. Although I prefer the Broadsword over the Longsword.

If I was going into NG+ and beyond I'd make an Fire or Chaos Composite Bow, and then probably a Rapier as well, because it's really nice when you can still 1-shot strong mobs (like the snakes in Sen's) in NG+.

Sadly, you're right...my productivity is in the toilet.
Callipygias, what did you mean by being able to still 1-shot mobs? Which weapon that you mentioned would be doing that on NG+?

I think he's talking about the critical bonuses from Rapiers. Combined with the Hornet Ring, BAM!

Yes, in NG+ and beyond it's really handy to have a super-strong crit weapons like a Rapier for those times when you're fighting a couple snake men (or whatever) simultaneously. And GOD those horrible little op Crystal Soldiers at Duke's, it's really nice to be able to 1-shot those little bastards too.

Oh, okay...sort of like that hidden critical you get for the Estoc? Never could figure out why that weapon had such a huge increase in damage over comparable weapons until someone mentioned the hidden crit for backstabs. And is it true that Chaos weapons add the extra humanity damage to the critical, or something to that effect...?

Humanity affects the Chaos damage, but not the crit bonus. Not as far as I've noticed anyway.

I picked up the Composite bow, like Callipygias mentioned. I see it has a shorter range, so it seems like it's more suited to closer quarters fights. Just wondering how it compares to a maxed out light crossbow, which I'm using now. My other bow is a lightning shortbow (it's all I have the stats for, since this is a low level build).

Reinforced Club, Light Crossbow and Hand Axe did a great job for my SL 1 runs, so I can really recommend them and if you want something bigger, you can 2 hand a Claymore.
