You need to use an egg vermifuge to get rid of it, you can buy one from the Eingny after beating Quelagg. It'll cost you about 1000 souls.
Find him by destroying the fake wall down the stairs from the bell after the boss fight. Eingny will be blocking your way to the covenant but if you talk to him and offer your devotion he will move aside. He'll even give you a FREE egg vermifuge if you talk to him after, I think! Or you could just kill him and get two.
Also, you can farm them from the egg burdens just beyond there, and maybe just before Quelagg as well.
If you keep the egg on your head you'll get a special "kick" animation though, just something to consider.

the green tree snakes in dark root garden also drop egg vermifuges on rare occasion.
