Good question, my thoughts are yes, as long as it's equiped it should work. The lack of requirement should only make you not able to use it for blocking.

it does, my character had base faith when I aquired it and he recieved the regen

Sadly the health regen rate does not increase as you upgrade the shield.
It's a good shield to use in your off-hand if you're idle even if you don't have the base faith stat.

not true, it only affects damage you do with this shield. blocking is not affected with faith. and since it has crappy regen with crappy stats (bleed trough and low stability), shield is unusable.

Wrong. I invaded some farmers once, ran to the dark knights at the Kiln, and equiped double sanctus and was at full health in a while. And then I owned them, with some help from the dark knights.

or you could simply use humanity and avoid waiting.
