remember Vagrant Story on playstation?

there are some elements of that game that i think were maybe a inspiration for the souls games.

like the uber boss fights and having to craft weapons and amour to suit different enemies and attack types.

the different attack move sets depending on what weapons you were using i remember it being pretty hard in parts until completing it and enteringnew game plus, then you could access sealed areas and new harder bosses

Yes I do. I loved that game and still have it in my collection. One thing I remember clearly is the main character's trousers, which, when I first saw them, looked like they were hairy so I christened them 'troll trousers'. The end boss was one of the most challenging and enjoyable fights I've ever experienced because it required split second timing. A true challenge.

ah yes vagrant story... I never got past fighting the bat
I hate to admit it, but I was more scared of that game than I was of silent hill
Then again, the last time I slipped it in the ol playstation was when I was 7 maybe 8 years old

the last boss had that attack called blood sin im pretty sure i got 1 ht killed by that a few times lol, i remember that when you finished it you had the blood sin tattoo on your back and Ashley Riot was tough as nails.

i liked some of characters who appeared as "bad guys" where not really bad and visa versa, like sydney lastarot the sorceror guy with the metal arms you are pursuring for about half the game helps you out a few time and has a tragic death.

i'd love it if they remade this

the elemental phantoms with the areas effect spells where a terror for me

One of my favorite games of all time. You could dominate with the attack linking but one slip up and you might be on the ropes. I would get the Rood Inverse tattoo if I wouldn't have to tell everyone the story behind it every five minutes.

yeah i remember if the risk meter maxed out you could hardly hit anything and you would receive some mega damage! i finshed the game in the end using a crosbow cos the last boss kept flying round out of range giving me beats
