Re: Back to SKYRIM
I just went back to Skyrim too, though I have trouble playing any sort of close range character. I just get incredibly bored running at people at mashing right trigger until they die. I always go with a stealthy bow using character, because then I can at least feel like I'm using some sort of strategy

[quote="bunnywink"]What do you need for the platinum, Slake?
One miracle (Sunlight Spear) and 4 rare weapons. It should only be one but I messed up first playthrough by cashing in Quelaag and Iron Golem souls in stead of making the rare weapons with them and I completely missed the Gaping Dragon's tail axe. That leaves The Great Sword of Artorias. I'm on my third playthrough and hope to get these soon.

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Iron daggers and leather bracers are the mainstay, but I was pulling my hair out with them by around Smithing level 70ish. It appears the increases were based on the value of the item, and it was taking forever at that level. So I started making potions worth 3-5k, selling them off, and then buying Smithing training from that skyforge guy in Whiterun. Once it got up to 90, I started making Daedric armor -- the initial smithing XP was ok, but upgrading it with my maxxed out smithing gear was giving me ridiculous XP at the cost of 1 ebony bar. Basically 1 Smithing level per item upgrade.

Yeah its boring and takes a bit of effort but its the best way without other skills to pay for it. I was gonna use the trainers but its SO expensive.

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Haha, so as a brief update on my unarmed punching-only character, I had originally named him 'Punchmaster!' during chargen in homage to the classic Cracked comics:
http://www.cracked.com/blog/man-comics-return-punchmaster/
Well, apparently his punchmastering has become excessive even by Skyrim standards, because I am now constantly getting attacked by high level assassins, Aldmeri Dominion murder squads, and all sorts of bounty hunting NPCs. I cannot tell you how funny it is to open a Thalmor execution order looted from one of their tenderized corpses and see it directed at 'Punchmaster!'

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Well, my new toon isn't a "Punchmaster" by any means, but, by simply being a Khajiit, has meant that every fistfight that I've had to wage has been extremely easy.

Do the Khajit get any unique animations for their unarmed attacks? I've been surprised how many there are for regular unarmed punching, you can do all sort of horrible things to people with critical animations, including a body slam and something I can only describe as an Atomic wedgie.

Not that I've noticed. Then again, I've only been in about 2 or 3 brawls.

Not to my knowledge, but it makes it way easier to get the stealth kill cams for unarmed.

Khajit attack with an open hand, like they are attempting to claw someone. as far as the kill animations go i think they are the same. chokeslams, haymakers to the face etc.

There's a triangle choke and a gillotine for stealth kills. Maybe 1 more, don't remember

I want to know how viable it would be to solely wear the dawnguard full armour for the whole game..... Its cooler than any of the other sets by a long shot!

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Its skyrim, with some smithing and/ or enchanting and/or alchemy every armor from elven and orcish up can hit the max 80% damage reduction. The crafting is so broken, on my archer who has 2 crafting skills I have an ebony bow that does 900 damage a shot. It renders the destruction school completely useless.

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Yeah, Destruction School is pretty pointless. I have Conjuration, Archery, Enchanting, and Smithing maxed out. Needless to say, I'm an invincible god in Tamriel.

Re: Back to SKYRIM
Its sad, imo magic should be more powerful than the others, but it is limited by your magica pool so your uber damage is on the clock and you're physically fragile. Thats usually how it goes, and for good reason.
Between shouts, and crafting, all magic except illusion and conjuration is completely worthless. Though summoning odaviing (the dragon) makes conjuration most useful in doors, where he can't go. Illusion is so powerful for vampires that it renders everything else pointless, unless one is facing a dragon.
I love the crap out of the game but good god its balanced horribly.

Re: Back to SKYRIM
I play on master. Always have, anyways. My 43 archer has put 36 levels into health and is a werewolf, nothing kills me in 1 hit. Stamina isn't really necessary for stealthers, you shouldn't need to run far to lose enemies with high sneak.
