What would be, if not the best, the most recommended rings for pvp?

A very noobish question i think, the reason i ask is because ive played demons souls before and always equipped the cling ring(i always stayed in soul form) and that stamina regen ring(i forgot the name) in all the events, online or offline, fighting phantoms and all the locations except 5-x.

but there is no soul form in dark souls, so... you now know my reason for asking.

    Recommended rings for pvp?

    Favor and Protection
    Havels
    Wolf

The three best rings for obvious reasons. You have increases in hp and end, large increase in end, or 40 static poise without any armor on at all.

These 3 rings are the only ones that can benefit everyones build regardless of how they built it. All other rings are situational and depend largely on using castings or can be made obsolete by using grass.

Havel + Fap ring for maximun hp, defence and heavy armour looks
Fap ring+ flip ring = able to maintain 31+ poise while flipping (essential against spear user and magic user),
hornet + flip/wolf, switch accordingly to your opponent's weapon, kantana, curve sword = wolf, anything bigger than greatsword = flip

you can switch before commencing a battle when the phantom is present? i never thought that they would wait for you. i assumed you start with the bow gesture then commence the fight.

Anyway thanks for the tips, FnP and Wolf ring it is.

This depends quite a lot on the character you're using.

    Ring of Favor and Protection
+20% to your Max HP, Stamina and Equip Burden

    Wolf Ring
    +40 Poise

    Havel's Ring
    +50% Equip Burden

    Hornet Ring
+30% Critical damage (Backstab and Riposte)

    Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring
    +20% Sorcery and Pyromancy damage

    Ring of the Sun's Firstborn
    +20% Miracle damage

    Calamity Ring
Makes men out of children and gives more chest hair.

    Also:

    Cloranthy Ring
+20% Stamina regen. Goes well with Grass Crest Shield, Mask of the Child and Green Blossom. The combination of them all will give you such rapid stamina regeneration that it's ridiculous.

    Darkwood Grain Ring
Changes rolling animation to a ninjaflip if below 25% equip burden. Useful for builds relying on dodging rather than defences or large amounts of HP.

    Red Tearstone Ring
+50% damage when at 20% HP or less. Dangerous, but effective.

    East Wood Grain Ring
If you like to use Crystal weapons.

Leo ring - boots the damage of counter hits (when you attack your enemy with a thrusting attack while they are in their attack animation) from 120% to something like 166.7%, which is a huge number (you can do 700-800 damage with one hit from a halberd!).

Blue tearstone ring- extra 50% defense at 20% health niceeeee
ring of fog: great for COOP as you can stealth with a bow or spells
    wolf: 40 extra poise.....nuff said
ring of the suns firstborn: easy to obtain merical booster
hawke: completely underestimated gives you another 50% bow range and enhanced zooming, meaning that your **** dark-moon how could be ok
    senace rings: extra attunesment slots....yeah
stone plate rings: give you a nice damage resistance pending on the ring

Don't underestimate the fog ring, helps w/ pursuers, and for places like the forest it makes it so you can see your enemy, but they can't see you. I love the fog ring in the forest.

@Sentiel you're welcome dude... this is important, bcause sometimes it's a surprise to be screwed by a certain spell and think "wow, this is just a soul arrow".

I never did a sorc before, now I'm leveling one. Many forest PVPs I pwn host when I start spamming regular Soul Arrow: they usually think I'm just a under training mage and try to trade damage. As far as I have tested, the ring is more than just a spell damage improve. It can deceive you opponent sometimes ;D

I like to fast swap rings, depending on my opponent. I have the FaP equipped at all times. I usually have the Wolf's equipped. If my poise isn't sufficient enough to not be stunlocked, then I drop that ring and put on another. When my health gets low, I swap for the Red Tearstone Ring.

    Slot 1= FaP
Slot 2 (aka fast swap slot)= Wolf's (primary), RTSR (when health gets low), Bellowing Dragoncrest ring, Hornet, or Leo (if have a thrust weapon).

If I don't plan on rapid swapping, then I use Havel's and FaP. Havel's allows me to use heavier armor (more defense and poise).

Thats what i keep telling them!!! Ran into a guy and his phantom trying to do legit duels in the forest with rules and everything...i just sent him a message saying "Do you realize where you are???" anyway I digress...

I use FaP ring all the time and usually have either the hornet ring, bellowing dragoncrest, or red tearstone in the second slot...and if im feeling flippy ill use the dark wood grain ring...

I just ignore the hatemail. No point responding to it. I get sick of people complaining because I use what the game gives me to use. People expecting me to play by their unknown and ephemeral "rules of engagement". I play by mine, and I feel it is fair. But, the forest, there are no rules of engagement, which in a certain aspect, is nice.

And, yes, AFAIK, the leo ring works with the halberd.

I think it does, just tested this with a divine +5 composite bow and i managed to get a damage boost when the enemy attacked (but the boost was smaller because the leo ring only affects physical damage).

Red tearstone ring, 40% damage boost if your low on hp.
Leo Ring, gives you a damage boost for thrusting weapons, halberd, rapiers/spears in general, balder side sword and claymore
Wolf ring, 40 Poise for free, imo is this ring overpowered/unbalanced...
Hornet ring, if your using a critical build, or just being an douche
Havels ring, boosts your eqip load 50%
Ring of favor and protection, well the 2nd unbalanced ring, 20% more hp, stamina AND equip load ...
Bellowing dragoncrest, for mages (pyro and spells)
Cloranthie ring (?) boosts your stamina recovery

This prooves someone's theory (I think Forum Pirate, sorry don't remember), that after DWGR be nerfed, people would start complaining about wolfs ring instead. Smart thought.
