Ascension caps to prevent low-level, uber gear invasions Empty Ascension caps to prevent low-level, uber gear invasions

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I recently stumbled across a thread on the Xbox forums where people were laying out some frustrations with griefers. A few people sounded like they were on the verge of having this ruin their game. I've always kind of shrugged off griefers, since there aren't as many as there used to be, it seems. But the posts kind of got me thinking about solutions (hypothetical). This was all I could come up with. Any thoughts?

I guess I'd suggest gear caps that are based on weapon ascension as well as player level. Anything from base to +5 could invade level 1 to 20. Once you have any weapon or shield in your inventory that is +6 to +10 (or perhaps as soon as you have the large ember), you can only invade enemies level 20 and above. And once you hit +11 or the second tier of elemental/divine/enchanted, you can only invade level 30 and above (at which point most people should have the large ember and have done some farming). This same restriction could also apply to the pyro glove...another favorite of griefers, since it isn't level dependent.

Another suggestion might be that invaders not be able to hit worlds where they've already beaten the boss. I might go along with this up to a point. Perhaps put this restriction on the Burg, Parish, Blighttown, and Depths. But after that, it's wide open.

Make all weapons have low base damage with high scaling, and further upgrading a weapon will mostly increase its stat scaling.
Non scaling elemental weapons scale with soul level (diminishing returns hits at level 100?), same with pyromancy.

A low level could still be overpowered, but not even close to what we see today.

All I ever see, when I see these threads, is " I got beat by an invader, can you make the game easier so I can win? ". Personally, I think and TRust FROM thought this out before implementation. Invasions & Invaders are meant to be hard at all levels. Skill CAN beat high soul level invaders. Just keep playing in human form and you WILL get better at PVP. And above all, remember that the invader is controlled by a "Thinking human" who is playing a game that requires killing you by any means sometimes.

If you want to deal with uber gear invasions, get an uber-gear sunbro to help you out. I've never failed to find help in areas where invasions are common; the only place with more invaders than sunbros I've found is Sen's fortress. From did balance this.

I didn't read the whole OP because I like ublug's reply, so I don't think I'd have anything more to add to it. Wanted to comment on this, though:

    No!

Once you're at Gwyn, you can only invade in the Kiln? No. I like to go all the way to Gwyn specifically so I can have all areas open to invade in.

Instead, I propose that Darkmoons be able to invade players in areas where they've already beaten the boss. It's so easy for me to go to an area and, when I'm tired of getting invaded, kill the boss and go on undisturbed after that. Having it only be Darkmoons means you wouldn't be constantly invaded to the point where you can't invade yourself anymore (like in the Kiln), and it would add more incentive for players to join that covenant. As it is, Darkmoons have the same invasion restriction as DWs, that they can only invade players who haven't killed the boss, with the added restriction that they can only invade sinners. That narrows their invasion pool down quite a lot...

And since that would increase the amount of people Darkmoons can invade, From could STOP letting that covenant invade lower level players! Once in a while is alright, but that gets really annoying when you're getting invaded non-stop by higher level players...
