    Dante's Inferno Empty Dante's Inferno

Post by BIG TIME MASTER Tue Dec 04, 2012 4:59 pm

Game came out a few years back, and I was interested at the time but never played it. It's cheap now, so I got it and am thoroughly enjoying it.
Combat is fast and button mashy, but on hard difficulty you have to be on the ball. Puzzles galore and they are just challenging enough to be a little bit of fun figuring out. Some are easy.
The whole game so far (3 hours) feels like one nonstop boss fight. Its super intense. Art design and graphics are just awesome. Definitely worth a play, but not before you eat.

Yes... Glutton is nice, with the Cerberus. Sadly, I never went past the gold portion of Dante's Inferno. I borrowed the game from a friend. Sad. I liked it a bit, and the use of dark and light things.

I am always fascinated with Visceral Arts. They are the only game company that has the balls to allow death of children... one of them. lol

Yeah, they don't really hold anything back. I read a review that stated that some of the content seemed to be vainly going for "shock factor", but I didn't feel that at all during certain points. It is HELL, after all, it is supposed to be horrifying.
To me, the art design, sound effects, and pacing of the game is so intense that it gets overwhelming, truly. I was really enjoying the first few hours but I had to take a break for the day, to try and purge my mind of the horror before I go to sleep.
    It's just fantastic.

A side note, Mino's the Judge was just freaking awesome. Going through the level you get a quick glimpse of him here and there, but the whole time you hear him delivering the damned their sentences with such awesome authority.
    "GLUTTONY!"
    "GREEEEED!"
    "LUST!!!"
And then when you fought him - didn't disappoint. I like how the boss fights play out like puzzles, so you will be sitting there fighting for an eternity and then suddenly realize you have to use certain items in the environment after effecting the boss at the right times to finish them. It's a clever and fun way to break up the monotonous combat. I don't think it will hold replay value, but I didn't expect this to be more than a one playthrough game.

Horror is not the word I would use. Of course, I am a bit use to such designs... once you get use to them, the horror factors are replaced with ease.

I liked... I did not like the boat, that was hard as hell. But I did like the game all in all. I wish I had more time to finish it, but I was cut off. Aw well.

I like the judge too. I also liked the enemies in general. Lucifer seemed to be missing the goat portions though. Thank god.

You mean the boat from Aceron to Hell proper? I thought that was so cool the way they designed it. The ship was actually Charon's giant tomb, and then when you rip his head off with the beast, oh man that was awesome.

I loved that part. the problem, was that the enemies were... blarg.

I died way too many times, I say with pride.

I've died quite a bit too. In fact, other than DKS, this is probably the most I have died in a game.
