The Gold Tracer Empty The Gold Tracer

Post by SlakeMoth Tue Nov 27, 2012 5:55 am

I love this weapon. When it dies I'm going to have it stuffed and mounted in a glass case and hang it over my mantlepiece.

I've been trying to beat the Four Kings in NG+ for ages. I can't summon because there's nobody around to summon at my soul level (179) so I was all on my ownio. I'd tried just about every weapon combination I could think of but nothing worked. Weapons like my Fire Uchi and the Gravelord sword just didn't knock 'em out fast enough, although a couple of times I was within an inch of making it.

In desperation I decided to go with the Gold Tracer and I still can't believe what happened. I two handed it and the R2 attack just owned them. I swear I saw damage figures of over 1000 but I have no idea why because I'm not that clever when it comes to stats and stuff like that.

Question: Has anyone else had a similar experience or an explanation. I'd like to know, just out of curiosity.

I really like Gold Tracer , but I always get trigger happy with it and end up with 0 Stamina. Look Skyward

You can summon Beatrice NPC Phantom for Four Kings, she isn't much of a help, but it's better than nothing.

I usually whack Four Kings with spells and then just my Uchi +15. It's a good idea to use Red Tearstone Ring to get extra damage, or Power Withing, if you're not confortable with having low HP. I wouldn't combine them though.

I'm pretty sure Four Kings can't bleed since they're kinda tree-like, or something. So only explanation that comes to mind for the huge damage is that it stacked. When you hit something and hit it again fast enough the new damage numerical gets added to the previous one, looking like you just did huge damage in one hit.

Also, Gold Tracer hits for good damage and hits fast, so it's easy to build up huge numbers with it. If the boss can bleed, it can get outright insane sometimes.
