I think everyone may be, the lord of the rings rather a landmark in modern film, and possibly one of the greatest film trilogies of all time.
The hobbit, being split into 3 parts that is, hopefully will be the same. I'm personally really looking forward to freeman's interpretation of bilbo, i really like him as an actor and think he'll suit him rather well. It'll also be nice to see the positively Shakespearean McKellen back as gandalf again.

I loved the LotR movies, and I hadn't even read those books, where I actually have read the Hobbit, so I feel like I'll be able to love these movies even more

Its gonna be awesome and a pain in the *** to go see it, I might wait a couple of weeks after it comes out to avoid the crowds.

I cannot wait. The animated film was actually pretty good, so I can't imagine how this one will turn out. I wholeheartedly believe I'll enjoy it.

I'm a Tolkien fanboy, so naturally I'm extremely exited and frightened at the same time.

I had to ensure I would get the acoustic sweet spot. Reserved seating is the best!

Re: Any body excited about THE HOBBIT ?
I became a fanboy of The Hobbit and LOTR after reading the first two books.
Needless to say I'm not going to sleep the day it comes out.

Re: Any body excited about THE HOBBIT ?
I am a dedicated Lotr fan (enough that I can't stop playing lotro) and I'm very much looking forward to The Hobbit movies.
It would be wise for anyone who hasn't read the books to do a bit of research on what they will see. The Hobbit is a children's book, and whilst I imagine Jackson will make it into something epic, it will not have the adult themes and moments that LotR did.

- Spoiler:
- I read the Hobbit. I went past the portion of the Elves, where the Hobbit and Dwarves went into a settlement called Storm-Something IIRC. I will read the rest from there.
I wonder how the forest/webs will go... And the eagles too.

So I watched the Fellowship of the Ring at my girlfriends this weekend, I haven't seen it for years, man the combined nostalgia and nerdgasm was too much for me.

I read The Hobbit to my 6 year-old. Now, he can't wait for the movie to come out. Guess what movie I'm seeing this Christmas?
