I'm right by the dead body you get an item off of. It's there. I'll try to repost if you want, but remember the area is glitched. So you might not see it even if it's appearing in your game. You might have to run around and look for it and wait for the message to pop up that you can summon.
I could bring it back over to the fog gate if you want, but I keep getting summoned by other people over there.

I'm not posted by the fog gate. I'm by the dead body at the opposite end of the canyon, so other people wouldn't find me as easily. I'll move it though. I'll just post by the gate.
Okay I'm on top of the rock to the right of the fog gate.
Also, just for the record, if you have the flame stoneplate ring it can be really helpful for this fight. I have a toon he was 1HKOing with one of his breath attacks and it helped me to survive it.

He's definitely quickly becoming one of my favorites. I really hope to see more bosses like him in the next souls game.
