    Improvised/Unusual tactics Empty Improvised/Unusual tactics

I get the impression that certain builds have certain fighting styles associated with them, which are mostly static/unchanging. Personally, since I have not been using a specific build, my fighting styles have simply adapted over time to fit many different situations. I have always had trouble trying to parry, so I start blocking right before an attack hits instead, and lower my shield in the gaps between attacks to regain stamina. I found this especially effective against enemies such as the demon fire sage and onstein and smough.

How have the rest of you improvised/adapted your combat styles in interesting/uncommon ways?

In PVE: For some reason, I find myself always staying as close to the enemies as possible. Most of the enemies' moves are easier to dodge when you're in their faces, save for the point blank AOE attacks.

In PVP: I kick and use jumping attacks more often than most people. For some reason, not many people kcik and it is one of the most valuable techniques to use in PVP. Jumping attacks can be risky, but I really like using them to avoid parries and to get a bit of extra range.

In both: I block while sprinting. This is a tactic extremely useful when running past enemies, and it is one of the best ways to deal with Bed of Chaos. It also works really well to close the distance for spear/halberd users in PVP.

Those were mainly basic techniques that are core mechanics of the game, but not a lot of people use them and they work wonders for me.
