i use the mace(it hits like a truck) and the stone axe which ive seen a lot of gankers use which makes me sad.

I think the S scaling on the pyro glove melee (with intelligence) would be really amusing. Use some pyromancy...and sometimes just give them a face full of flaming fist with added alliterative appeal!

sunlight bladed broken straight sword, crystal magic weapon would work too, or maybe the crystal weapons domnall sells, buffed of course to make them competitive.

Gargoyle tail axe, the regular dagger, or a hammer. The warpick is a really good weapon, especially with the leo ring.

I noticed that the standard Greataxe has more AR than the stone Gaxe and requires less STR to use, still gankers preffer the new one :|
Anyway I love the moveset of that thing

yeah, its REALLY weak for that weight, it has the best moveset out of all the greataxes though. it has really good reach though, it sucks that the ar is not that good.

I've been known to use the Four Pronged Plow and the Gargoyle Tail Ax. You might be surprised how effective a guard breaker the Tail Ax can be for it's weight. Predictable moveset though. The Plow is nice and the two handed R2 is amazingly fast and STRONG. Just don't miss. You will die.
Oh, Priscilla's dagger I've used successfully as well.
For unpopular weapon I have yet to see anyone rock the Sanctuary Guardian tail

i would be rocking the sanctuary tail but i need to trade for it since i dont have the dlc. the plow is pretty awesome and sometime when i invade newbies in the forest i just keepr missing the r2 on purpose and then kill them when i get bored.
