Silver Knight Weapons

I went to anor londo last weekend for a picnic, tought it would be a good place to visit, good architechture, warm bonfires, and malvaviscos what else could I ask???

So I was there camping, and those guys "Silver Knights" dropped me the Silver knight Str. Sword E/C scaling and the Silver Knight Spear... that I think scales the same... can't remember...

So... I decided to upgrade the Sword and it's a good sword let me tell you... it parrys the same as my BSS +15, Parried the Silver Knights with 719 dmg both...

But... testing the r2 atk... it is more powerful with the BSS... there is a huge diference, the bss R2 inflicts like 100 points more of damage than the Silver Knight str sword...


so... what do you thing about those weapons... would you recommend them? the R2 of SKSS seem like a defense breaker but I haven't test it...

And what about the spear? I have a DSS +5, will the SKS be comparable to it???

for a 24 str, 40 dex, 30 faith build... what would you suggest as gear for pvp?

I never used the DSS before, but I do like the SKS with a leo ring

Main reason I love the Silver Knight Sword is that it's so cool-looking. I love that sword. For PvE it's one of my favorite weapons, and if either the 1 or 2-handed R2 attack was a little different I'd probably use it in PvP too.

Only had one guy use it against me, and I gotta say that its moveset is soooo easy to defend since it can only do one thing, basically.

It's a beautiful sword that deserves a better moveset.

The Spear is a very popular weapon. It has the 3rd best reach of all spears in the game (IIRC) and it does divine damage, so very useful for the Catacombs. It's scaling is also decent, the only thing it suffers from is the fact that you cannot buff it. Overall it's a very useful weapon and well worth using on a Dex build.

Compared to the DSS, SKS is better in that it does only physical damage, is lighter, the R2 attacks are a lot more viable in PvP and it has lower stat requirements. I think they both have pretty much the same range. DSS wins out in having a higher guard break ability.

The Straight sword on the other hand isn't as good. It's damage will be pretty much on par with the BSS (I think SKSS has 1 less AR than the BSS at 16str, 40 dex) but what sets the BSS apart is its R2 attack. The R2 stab of the BSS gets a higher damage modifier than any other weapon's R2 attack. SKSS's R2 looks fancy an'all but you wont get it to connect all that often.

I would also suggest you do a bit of farming for the shield. Silver Knight Shield is one of the best shields out there when upgraded to +15.

For now +5 will have to do. Though I would love to see the stability on a +15 one.

Look at its Aux effects and you can see it. It doesn't do anything special other than deny the skeletons the right to return.

SKSS R2 do stagger enemies easily, even in PvP and does good damage, but BSS is overall better, thanks to it's powerfull and laggy R2 poke and if you notice SKSS has slower attack animations than BSS, which can be a problem sometimes.
SKSS has very badass looks though, while BSS looks like a toothpick.

SKS is good for Dex builds and I use it myself. The damage isn't highest, but it's a spear after all, so it's more meant to poke people and annoy them to death than to make big numbers pop up on your screen.

The two handed R2 attack of the Silver str sword is very fast for an R2 attack and it does great poise dmg.

The spear is a ridiculously effective weapon due to its reach, I like using the sword a lot because of its looks, but generally most people will agree that the BSS is the superior weapon.

Edit: The spear will be better than the DSS with your stats. The DSS only shines when you invest into all of its scaling stats.

I love the SKS for low levels because it can be buffed, and that thing destroy. You might want to switch for a BSS later when your DEX is higher, but before that, the SKS great.

In PVP, just try to not spam the R2, because its easy to parry.

The SK spear is effective at catacombs for non-faith builds and good for PVE, never tried in PVP but I've been defeated by people using it.
