    Well, i dunno. Shrug

I got 18 mil souls so i'm happy, that's all that matters. tongue

Would of course be good knowing what exactly the reason behind it is though... :suspect:

Edit: Why do i have one space between each sentence?...

    The hawk ring, definitely.
Grab a dragon greatbow, and combine it with that ring. You can snipe for 400-600 damage from massive distances for massive damage.

The Hawk Ring in general is very helpful to all bows.

I think though that the Ring of the Sun Princess, White Seance Ring, Darkmoon Seance Ring, and the Ring of the Sun's Firstborn are all pretty underrated rings.

i'm often tempted to equip the firstborn or the princess ring, i just never do for some reason, i don't even think i could tell you what the white or the darkmoon rings do.

Some hackers or save editors give too many souls when they die....I know it because I have killed a low level player who received very little damage from any source, but once I finally managed to kill him, he dropped 900k souls.

All that matters is your opponents souls needed to level up, and whether you are a host/invader/ or (white/gold) helper phantom. That's it.

How widely is the DWGR used post-patch anyway?

I've used the DWGR since the patch on lightly armored dex builds. I swap out the Cloranthy for it sometimes, if I need better dodging (like fighting the Sanctuary guardian). Ever want to just drive a ganker nuts...put that on and refuse to engage. Pepper them the arrows, dung, pyro, whatever. They'll never touch you as long as you wear that thing.

I've seen some people use it in duels. I always wonder why they equip it. Is the flip better then the fast roll?

My mage uses it. Let me just say that it must be annoying as hell to fight a ninja-flipping Dark-Beading mage (my VERY positive win-loss record can attest to that silly ). twisted

Mine would be the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring. I love using it in PvE. There are time where i can leave it on the entire playthrough and not take it off. That's how good it was for me.

I would say cloranthy ring, specially for str builds.

I'm just once again going to testify that the hawk ring is very under-appreciated.
This ring is broken; not only do you zoom in further, but you experience increased accuracy and damage at longer ranged combat. It's far too significant for me to explain well... so lemme explain it this way.

The dragon slayer greatbow experienced no damage fall off when sniping the hydra from above the waterfall in the forest hunters area of the forest. None at all. THAT is a huge range increase. I think it's like +200

The hawk ring actually increases the total range of whatever bow you are using by 50% as far as I know. But that is good to know that you can shoot the hydra from up above.

Since the dragonslayer greatbow has a range of 50, the range with the hawk ring would be 75

I don't know how roudning is handled with bow ranges but the black bow of pharis has a base range of 65, making it 97.5 range with the hawk ring. I also do not know how it handles the range change from special arrows.

The slumbering dragoncrest ring is great for PvE, especially against the darkwraith knights since many of them spawn facing away from you. It lets you start of quite a few fights with a backstab.

I don't know how many of you guys have tried this, I know I've mentioned it once before in another thread, but try out the Slumbering DC Ring in combination with the Chameleon spell in PvE. It's hysterical. You have to move slowly anyway though. Creep a little at a time. I find it especially funny in Sen's because you transform into one of the statues.

    Or fog ring + SDCR.

Well I'm sure the Fog ring works better for practical purposes, but there's nothing like sneaking up on an unsuspecting enemy, especially a scary looking one, disguised as a mild mannered pot. Then watching them turn and inspect you inquisitively and decide you aren't a threat.

Chameleon was already hilarious, but I never tried it with the slumbering dragoncrest ring. Now I have to try this lol!. I wonder what would happen if you used chameleon with the slumbering dragoncrest ring and the ring of fog at the same time. I wonder if I could backstab darkwraith knights this way. Or maybe sneak up on drakes for once twisted

Flips have faster recovery time and a longer window of rolling invulnerability.

I haven't tried it with the Fog Ring too, but just the other two are enough to sneak up for a BS on a lot of things. I was doing it to the Balder Knights and Serpent Men at Sens

The stoneplate rings are underused but yet they actually provide decent defences for a low Armour player, or the speckled stoneplate ring to help you handle anything if your going through the game blind. or you can always make the ultimate fire/magic tank by useing havels/tarkus's set (depending what your tanking against) magic/fires stoneplate ring, rofap for extra health against all types of damage and a dragon weapon to even further improved magic/fire res by 20 heres a couple examples.
    Magic tank:http://tinyurl.com/b7yvva2
    Fire tank:http://tinyurl.com/a8jb5jl
Now offcourse since these characters are sl 80 and they roll like obese turtles its best to use them for co-op in areas where they defend best in.
But yeah I think the stone plate rings can defiantly strengthen a low armourd character or further strengthen a tank.

It's very, very, very rare that it's worth sacrificing the +40 Poise of the Wolf Ring or the 50% extra carrying capacity of Havel's Ring for just a tiny token boost to some miscellaneous defences.
