    Using the Homebone in your hot slot can be used as a hint; it will dim when you are going to be invaded.

    The dimming of the Homebone used to be short notice; you had to act fast. Now it seems the Homebone will dim when the machines are beginning the sync process for an invasion. You have plenty of time to finish fighting or finish the level before you get invaded.

    I wish the invasion mechanics were different; perhaps you could not be invaded if your boss is alive. If you want the PvP action you would return to an area previously defeated.

    I also use this method and to be honest I have not seen a big change in time.How long did you test this for?Aslo was it all on the same night.I ask because it could just have been the traffic and server(s)..I find the invasion times change depending on where they are trying to connect from.......Or I could be totaly wrong.Ill have to pay more attention the next time I see my HB dim.......

    You can also use the White or Red sign soapstones along with the blue/red eye orbs for this if you're out of homeward bones.

    From my experience the time isnt allways the same, it depends on both internet conections. Saying this cause i use the blue orb a lot and sometimes it takes long, other times less than 30 seconds.

    But yes you can do that to give you a heads up.

    Homeward bones and invasion items, work same way as fog gates, they become unusable if they are up...or if you stand on an elevator.....

    I always equip my current online play item and use it's dimming to know if I'm invaded, or not.

    However, if the invasion fails, both Black Separation Crystal and online play items are light up, but don't work. So, one is not entirely sure what is going on, while Homeward Bone works fine in all cases.

    If you're not sure, you can always go to Options and if the option Quit Game is black and you can't select it, you already have another player in your world.

    Last night in the Royal Wood, I was close to ending the game and had plenty of humanity to spare.

    While waiting for help against Kalameet, I decided to accept invasions. My homebone would dim and then lighten. Then I saw plenty of soul signs show up. I'm wondering if the dimming of the homebone signifies more than just a negotiation for invasion, but a network issue for summoning people, too.

    ohThen there is nothing balancing the co-op and the whole game is a brease, and the constant invasions screwing with my farming or resupplying. not a good move.

    I usually use the white or red soapstone as an indicator. I haven't really noticed a change in the time, but I have noticed a lot more failed invasions where the soapstone would dim and then lighten again.

    As a person who used the homebone as an early warning system to quit my game, I notice that I have a LOT more time to quit my game now.

    I am waiting a bit now to see if the homebone will lighten up before choosing to quit.

    I got so frustrated with high level invasions in the Undead Burg, that I camped in front of the boss gate waiting for an invader to show. Step through the gate, send the phantom home, quit my game. Repeat. I figured to let them waste their cracked red eye orbs. I would send a message "HA!", but I never got a response.
