Build help

Hello all, I'm pretty new to PVP and as such usually do quite terrible. Though recently I've been having a lot of luck with my unfinished Artorias build. I'm currently at SL 71 with the current stats:

Vit 22
End 20
Str 34
Dex 18
Int 18
Fai 18

Att and Res are base for a pyromancer.

The thing is, I was planning on taking this to 120, upping my End just so I can mid roll with all my Arty gear without the use of Havel's, and upping my vit to around 46, I think.

Would my build be viable at SL 120? Or should I stick where I am, because I'm getting quite a few kills, way more than I've ever had in PVP altogether.

I'm using Abyss GS +4 with 11 humanity, not the best damage that I could be doing but I have so much fun with this sword. Arty armour and Greatshield of Artorias, hence the 34 strength.

I would practice with more basic build guidelines, like a standard dex or fth build or something. Just to see what you like in a character, high end, vit, whatever.

Before deciding on what you do with the rest of your points, make sure you get End to 40. This is extremely important when creating a character for PvP.

Can I hijack this thread? I don't think my question is worth making a new one for and taking up space ._.

basically, every build I make is bad in one way or another. I have one sl50~ with 25vit/21dex/17end/23 faith and two attunement slots, everything else is a bit random. I also have an sl85~ with (estimated) 30vit/25dex/20end everything else a bit random and badly thought through.

All I want to do... is kill things and survive attacks. But my 50 character is too weak in general and my 85 has been so randomly made it has no real strengths.
What would you suggest?

For a bonus point, is the painting guardian sword worth anything for a dex build? I spent ages trying to farm one to no success, and last night two in a row dropped just as I was being summoned. Managed to grab em but don't know what to do with them.

Personally, I love the painting sword in PVE. The +15 has an S scaling in dex and decimates when buffed. Tried it in PvP but didnt have much luck, granted I was so terrible at PvP in general back then. Try it out, doesn't take much to level it to +15 now the titanite chunk drop rate is higher on the Giants outside S&O room.

Thanks for the input! I noticed the scaling was A, but it going up to S decides it for me.

It would be a ton easier to help the both of you through MugenMonkey. There I can edit and tweak your builds to maximize damage output and resistance.

Ok so what Soul Level are you aiming for and what do you want your build to do? What you have right now looks like a bit of a mixed bag.

Exactly! I started off wanting a strong faith build, but I quickly realised that I'm not skilled enough to pull it off as casting times leave you completely open. So I started adding to dex in order to have a backup weapon, this is why I'm using the barbed straight sword/painting guardian sword right now - I haven't picked up iaito yet (sp). I'm kind of torn between staying with my original idea, adding more to dex so I can actually do damage, and adding to vit/end so I can actually survive, so I've ended up completely mixed up!
I don't really have an aim sl, I guess I'll want to stop at 120, because although I'm not good at pvp, I do like sunbro'ing for people.
(I imagine people are thinking "holy god you must be game breakingly bad for your summoners" but I get a lot better when I know dying won't lose me anything! XD)

Edit: Would I be going in a decent direction if I headed for something like this? (short term goal ofc)

Anastacia, this is how your build will look like at SL 120. This is pretty simple goal though, there are other powerful possibilities as well (ie. pure caster with Faith/Int). When using the BSS you'll basically be spamming the one handed R2 thrust and rolling away. The 2H roll R1 is very effective as well.

Thank you! I feel better knowing I can make something from this character rather than starting over (again). I must have gotten to Catacombs about six times and never once passed it.
