This Chosen Undead might just retire... 1330857165
My greatest fears might come true: I might retire from playing Dark Souls, just as I have retired from being the Slayer of Demons. This game has just run out of gas for me, after all, what last for 1 entire year with gas? Cars certainly don't. Games less. Dark Souls a bit more.

I enjoyed the meeting with our fellow Sunbro Solaire and his gift of friendship. I adored his help in besting the Gargoyles. I was mesmerized during my battle with Queelag the Gaping Dragon, I felt despair in the pits of Blighttown and the toxic doom, then confronted in the heart-pounding battle with Queelag. Only to gain regret upon seeing the fair lady. I remembered the friendly Ceaseless that allowed me to grab the pre-patch gold-hemmed set of awesomeness, before pummeling me.I remember Siegmeyer's dilemma and the dreaded traps of Sen's Fortress, the surprise of the mimic, and the joy of the lightning spear. I recall the greatness of Anor Londo and the dread of their archers.

I remember the duo of O&S, the guardians to Gwynevere. I remember Gwynevere and the rays of hope in such a cruel world as I took hold of the lordvessel. I remember the head-smacking of the old-withering snake, Kingseeker Frampt. I remember the horrors of Nito, Seathe, BoC and the Four Kings and the inevitable triumph. Then, the glory of Gwyn, and his silent collapse before my blade and my compatriot.

Alas, all good things must come to an end and this game had loss part of its luster. Their is no joy in striking down the 145,345,434 hollow a 234,354,434 time. There is little sense of accomplishment in defeating O&S for the 100th time ...alone. The effort to even make it to NG+ is tedious and boring as of now.

So, I say, that I, the Chosen Undead Seignar, must retire from playing Dark Souls. My only actions left is to platinum this game in honor for its greatness and hope that many games to come will follow in its footsteps.

First, I have to do a grand majority of all of the original DS, then there is the fact that I'm just too good at PvE. Seriously, I beat the DLC in SL1 during my 3rd go at it! Artorias really isn't that hard for me if I'm doing a normal play through and even possibly a challenge run.

    Cool story bro!

But yeah. I know what you mean. I played Zelda: Twilight Princess too much, and not I'm just sick of it. Same for Resident Evil 5. Except I went back to that one after a full year of not playing it.

I've at least 20 games, play nothing but poker on my iPad and DkS, no desire to play anything else anymore. When I get a little bored of DkS, will put DS back in the PS3. This is "the PLAN" till they release DkS2 or DS2.

    Call me what you will.

I feel the same, the dlc seems to have brought closure.

I take breaks from these games periodically, but I can't imagine ever getting rid of them. Too much fun to dust off once in a while.

I've started playing "Angband" again. I'm good at PVE in this game, but not a master, despite having beat it a few times, and after a while, the little things start to irk me. I'd really love for the developers to look into a better control scheme, especially for items and spells. The animation lag for the Silver Pendant is especially annoying since it's slower than Manus' casting time and I hate dying to stuff like animation lag.
