Farming spots for higher levels?
Now that the 2 npcs in Dark Anor Londo no longer respawn, is there any other location to farm? I completely suck at PvP so that's not a viable option right now.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
How about the tomb of giants after the second bonfire there's one skeleton dog and one skeleton
Easy run it's a two second run
And you can farm humanities to by the baby's

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
Hmm, i'll go try it out. For now, the only places i'm aware of are the forest npcs, the pinwheel enemies, the BKs in the Kiln, Darkwraith Knights.
How many souls do the hollows in Oolacile Township give? I can't play atm, could someone let me know?

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
I'm not sure whether it counts as a decent place due to the relatively long amount of time spent running back and forth, but the Royal Sentinels in Anor Londo drop 3,000 apiece on NG. They also drop chunks at a pretty high rate, which is handy. Usually a couple of Great Combustions will take them down.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
I used to farm Darkwraiths with that silver serpent ring and it's a great place to practice parrying and ripostes. In fact do it enough times and you can get your ripostes to a point where you're so fast that you don't even activate the parry sound, or even do what I did and parry two Darkwraiths with one parry. I don't know how many souls you would get now with the new patch but I used to get 1920 for every one riposted and there are eleven in total. It's also a good place to get chunks and rare slabs if you're after them as well.
PS
I was farming Darkwraiths with a fire rapier +10 for OHKO. Even with the elemental nerf the riposte damage should still be high enough to do it.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
Darkwraiths aren't to bad. Could make a run from right outside the drakes spawn, maybe kill those too. Or its easy enough to run past them. Farm decent exp, not great. And have a chance at slabs, dragon scales. Win win. PLUS. Like suggested good for training your parry skills. And your evasion aainst the drakes. Actually...i think i'll be doing this myself now...cause i suck at pvp to. But its still fun.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
I've gotten extremely good at parrying and ripostes thanks to my constant farming with them in the past. I was hoping to find another good farming spot besides the Darkwraiths though. =(

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
Whenever I'm farming scales for a Dragonbro torso, I go through the drakes, then on into the ruins for some chunks. Bonfire in the Basin is accessible by the elevator in VoD. Drakes aren't something I'd normally want to farm, as they're a pain, but if you're doing it for scales anyway, they give 1000 souls on regular game.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
I go with the babies... cuz if you still have Frampt you can exchange the hard Humanity the baby skellies drop for 1000 souls each... I end up getting max soft Humanity (from healing - estus flasks are a waste) and then when I finally get 99 hard Humanity, I exit the Tomb and sell 70ish hard Humanity to Frampt... then back to the grind. This method in NG+ and beyond is really good because the souls you get from the babies go up with each playthrough.
If I'm lazy and don't need that many souls, I farm in the forest by leading the mage, thief, and monk off the cliff.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
If you have a way of quickly clearing sunlit Anor Londo, from the chamber of the princess to the Solaire bonfire, you get a ton of souls, that's how I usually do it.
New Londo Ruins is also very good because, as someone else mentioned, you can get scales, chunks and maybe a couple of slabs.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
It is a bit more work, but the person above me has it right.
Sunlight Anor Londo:
Solaire Bonfire
All Knights
All Giants
Rinse and repeat.
I know for sure, the entire "grand hall" is 8500 souls at NG. +The Knights, you're looking around maybe 25k-30k? Rinse and repeat. This only takes like 10min if you're good at parrying and strafing.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
Location: The Forest
Needed items/spells:
Covetous Silver Serpent Ring
Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring
Symbol of Avarice
Fast weapon with high damage and stunlock potential (Uchigatana for example. I used an Enchanted Uchigatana +5 or Velka's Rapier +5)
Hidden Body
The rest of the equipment doesn't matter as long as you are below 25% encumbrance.
1. Step down to the stairs
2. Cast Hidden Body.
3. Run at the Sorcerer from the side (from your left to your right, not straight at him) kill him in a flurry of attacks before he can react. (And he won't react until it's too late)
4. From the position of the sorcerer, run upwards and kill the thief. He will sometimes try to dodge away, but he's usually not hard to take out
5. Do the same to the nearby cleric, but keep an eye on the bandit. Hidden Body should still be active, but you never know
6. Run at the Bandit from behind and chainstab him.
The result, once you've mastered it, will be roughly 10k souls per minute, not counting overkill bonuses.
Oh, and I'm sure you have your own farming music, but I liked to use this.

If you have any sort of explosive spells.
Painted World. Run to the Phalanx(Blob like enemies with shields and spears), blow them up. Fire Tempest, Great Fireball, WotG. Doesn't matter. Run back and rest. Rinse and repeat. Takes under around 30 seconds to do, if you are on NG+ even better.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
You could farm the clams in the crystal cave if you already killed Seath the Scaleless. They give 1k souls each on NG and have a decent chance to drop twinkling titanite (for unique equipment upgrades) and purging stones (for curing the curse status). Even if you haven't kindled the bonfire there at all, it can be warped to, so it makes it a simple matter of warping to a full 20 estus bonfire and warping back. Also, if you don't think you will use the item drops, you can always feed them to frampt.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
Heh, I completely forgot about this. I used to run to the doorway of the tower and lob fireballs, then finish off the stragglers. Seems to be the best way to do it with either low poise or skill, heh. I was burdened with both.Tolvo wrote:If you have any sort of explosive spells.

Re: Farming spots for higher levels?
I find the fastest way to earn souls is to just plow through NG into NG+ into NG++ etc. You get loads of souls from bosses, and in NG+ onward you get even more loads of souls.
