by PRH2 Fri Oct 26, 2012 9:57 pmI rolled a new char for the dlc, when it came time to clear Izalith I joined the chaos cov payed my 30 humanity and headed for the doors as always only to find them still locked.. baffled I abandoned the cov and rejoined still locked. Did they change this or is it a new bug (or an old one I was unaware of)?

same thing has happend to me. ive ploughed shed loads of humanity into the daughter of chaos, and still the doors remain locked?? could it be dlc causing the problem?

I've been going to these doors, with every character, to pick up the Sunlight Maggot, and the doors are open for me (even when I wasn't a Chaos Servant+2) and the SM was already dead.
Maybe they only open (after the patch) when the Bed of Chaos is dead.

Don't you have to touch the door in order to open the shortcut? I mean, that's how I open it from the other side.

Yeah it doesn't have anything to do with BoC. I actually just did this last night. I always open the Lost Izalith doors, get the sunlight maggot, do the Tomb of the Giants, then come back for BoC last, because I hate that fight. I literally just did it in that order, with the patch and DLC. you're sure you gave enough humanity and got the chaos firestorm spell?
You didn't do anything to anger the covenant did you? Like accidentally attack or kill any of it's NPCs?
You could go try absolving yourself of sins. Just to see if it makes a difference

I gave 30 humanity before ever getting to the door and it was still closed.
So I left coventant, went and actually tried to open the door and then re-joined and offered another 30 humanity and it opened.
So maybe you have to examine the door first or it won't open?

Right I've had this happened to me on many occasions however this was because of the BB glitch so if the characters you have created came from it before From patched it out this is what you need to do.
1. When you join the chaos covenant for the first time, make sure your rank is not already on +2 (rank carries over when you BB glitch) otherwise you will have to de-rank.
2. Join other covenants to lower the chaos rank below +2 and then just give the fair lady humanity until you get the chaos storm pyro. This will then allow you to open the doors to Izalith.
If this doesn't work then there must be another reason which I don't know of but when I had this problem this method worked 100% of the time.

it's a bug - just kill any Boss and you can open the shortcut (you have to go there and touch the door)
