I've started to deal with the fact that...

If I make a host use his Estus Flask to save himself or his Phantom, I won the battle even if I lose the war.

As in today I took a host down to where the next hit was death, his Phantom charges in, The host Estus three times to heal lol, I then get the Phantom on the ground and hurry up and 2 hand my Sword, the host gets smart and Estus like crazy to keep the Phantom alive. tsk tsk, then a second or two later I'm killed by the two spamming WoG, but as I die I see another forest invader back-stab the host to death.

I lost the battle but we won the war!

That's pretty much the way I see it or if they run away through a fog gate or disconnect.

Disconnecting is one thing, but there is no problem at running to the fog gate. You see, you invaded the guy, he just want to summon someone to help him kill the boss, is not his fault if someone invaded him. If you have better equipment, better weapons and will go fo a hornets ring backstab or WoG spam to kill, I would definitaly run to the fog

Yea I agree Fog Gates are fine, if I even see someone heading towards the boss I'll sit back and let them decide to fight me or boss.

I've fog gated it. Had just summoned Solaire for O&S fight and that was more important. As an invader you aren't entitled to a fight, just a chance at one. I do have to back Midgar under certain circumstances though which he might have been referring to. If the person starts the fight and runs to the gate once a loss seems inevitable that's bull. Back to the point of the thread to...if someone does that I would call that a win for you. If they run before fighting that's not a win as you don't know why they went to the gate.

Who cares about wins/losses? When I PvP I just want good matches.

I love making them fear me and run away when i invade

that is if im in the mood to let them get away most of the time

An invader is not entitled to a fight guys, its the hosts world and sometimes they are more interested in doing the boss than fighting you. For that reason, I really think that using estus is totally something the host should be doing. If they have enough time to flask, I'm not keeping the pressure on them in the first place right?

in questing, yes, in organized pvp (such as going to the known dueling areas, painted world, kiln, etc...)? no

^In organized pvp, that is true. But I think the OP is talking about invasions.

In random invasions I have not won till the host is dead, regardless of what the host tries.

Besides, If I want to I can be just as mean in return. If the host wants to let his 2 sunbros fight for him, I stop holding back wrath of the gods.

Yeah, just like... 15min ago I invaded in Anor londo, the guy summons a phantom when I spawn ( ), I go after them, I finally find them and the fight starts.

The guy use a katana with DMB (Very uncommon build, for sure...) and the other use his pyro flame, I'm like "*** it" and go for a BS with my ricard's rapier (+ crystal magic weapon), so I BS him, his buddy try to BS me after, I roll out of his range, the host heals, I BS him again, I roll but his buddy hits me with a pyro spell while the other was healing again and then he lagstab 2 times and win.

But I know I'm the one who won this fight because they were 2, they healed and they took advantage of the lag.

Sorry gol you might have won a moral victory, but you did infact lose the fight. Nothing wrong in losing, the act of engaging in combat with true warrior spirit is all that is needed for you to "win" even when you lose.

That's what I meant, I thought it was pretty clear.

Sorry i just thought the way you said "i won the fight because...." was unclear. What you should have said is "i only lost the fight because..."

I don't think I can remember fighting a forest host who didn't flask, so get used to it. My suggestion is to prepare for the inevitable flasking by either staying really close to them at all times or by having a really good ranged attack. When I'm too far to BS with my int build, my preference for ranged attacks against forest flaskers is my moonlight sword two-handed R2 if they're near a cliff and CSS if they're not. For my faith/str forest hunter build, I always stay right on their butt and either BS them or WoG them when they flask.

Moral victories aren't enough, IMO. Flasker or not, you need to kill them.

English is not my native language so... sometimes I make some mistakes/I'm not clearly understandable.

Its ok english is my only language and i suck at it.

For me its all about the fight. Not about win or lose. If i find fights with others that are on the true warrior path then that is a win.

English is a terrible language anyway, don't feel bad.

I started learning Japanese and I swear its easier than English because it actually follows its own phonetic rules.
