what do i do now...
i have tried pretty much every weapon and spell in dks, i've even dual wielded most of them, i have 5 toons who are set for the arena but with the glitchy graphics and low turn out for the ffa and team battles their not getting much action.... so now what? what build? do i take a break? should i head back to demons souls? any suggestions welcome.

Re: what do i do now...
It's hard for me to recommend what you should do since I don't know what it is about DkS that you enjoy. If I were in your situation, I would just make a new build and use a weapon that I haven't used very recently. However, my favorite part of DkS is making builds, so that's why I know I would have fun with it. If you really are bored of it, just take a break and come back to it if you feel the urge to play it again

Do some invading. When fights in an organized setting such as the Arena fail to entertain you, you might get a better thrill by doing some invading (street fighting, so to speak).

Re: what do i do now...
This might not be the answer you want, but taking a break was great for me. I didn't play for easily 4 months and then I came back to it for the DLC and everything feels new again.

Try Batman: Arkham City. Or one of the LEGO games. You'll feel like a boss by the end of it. Getting platinum in them takes some time though.WhatDoesThePendantDo? wrote:Play a silly game for a lil' bit. Take the pressure off.

Re: what do i do now...
If you like strategy at all Valkyria Chronicles really is good. I know a lot of us Dark Soulers like to use our heads in video games. You'll definitely do that there. Trying to think of what else I played during my break. I bought Kingdoms of Amalur but ended up not being super impressed. Have you played any of the Dragon Age games? I recommend DA Origins to everyone. Really great game.
Oh I also bought the Ico/Shadow of the Colossus combo. SotC speaks for itself, but I'd never seen Ico before, and it's ended up being really impressive and fun.
Actually another thing that helped me that hasn't been mentioned yet was going back to a classic that I love. Believe it or not there are games out there that hold higher places in my heart than the souls series. When I first took my break I replayed Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, with a friend no less, and then Final Fantasy 6. If there's anything that'll get you out of a DkS slump it's reviving a classic.

I have gone back to Demon Souls for a bit (the busy asian version) and wow, very nice! made a low level Miralda invader build and had a ton of fun.

Re: what do i do now...
Yeah I wasn't impressed by DA2 either. I played about 25 hours into it and stopped and haven't picked it up again. It felt really confining all taking place within the limits of that one city. I don't know what they were thinking with that one. Part of the fun of rpg's in my opinion is exploring new worlds.
If you're going to play a metal/rpg you should play Darksiders instead. I've played both Brutal Legend and Darksiders. Brutal Legend is funny, but the gameplay isn't all that wonderful and it can get kind of stale pretty fast. The online play is fun, if people are still playing it, but I thought that was about it. Darksiders is a lot like playing a Zelda game themed on 80s epic metal. The plot is kind of over the top and takes itself a little too seriously IMO, but the gameplay is solid and it'll keep you occupied if you're a fan of Zelda type games.
Are you into survival horror at all Sparkly?

Re: what do i do now...
survival horror... shudder... not my thing, and i've played mh3tri (stopped after i kept running into hackers) and the darksider games are dads property, i'd have to wait for him to finish them (well the first ones complete but not the second) decided to start playing the jrpg i mentioned... forgot that its 4 discs long... maybe i'll play muramasa the demon blade again...

Re: what do i do now...
Yeah most of my other recommendations would have been horror games. Im really into the genre. What's Lost Odyssey all about? I'm always looking for decent RPG's to play, and I haven't really had my socks knocked off since DkS. Although I keep hearing great things about Dragon's Dogma. I haven't even really seen that one yet. When I bought Kingdoms of Amalur I had them both in my hand and was trying to decide between them. Sounds like I made the wrong choice.

Re: what do i do now...
Lost odyssey is just your usual jrpg, just for once the main character isn't an agnsty adolescent (1000+ year old immortal with grandkids and a wife), thing is its an xbox 360 game (i have both consoles)... its not really anything special i just neglected to finish it so i figured i'd do that...

Draken: The Ancients Gates is a really great game. It has cool spells, cool monsters, and a dragon that you can ride. Also, the character you play is a woman
Soul Rever is also a good game. It has neat levels, cool abilities, and lots of puzzles.
Also, both are on PS2.
