Alot of red tear stone users

Hey hope everyone is having a good day so far.



I have a questions maybe some of you may know the answer too or maybe it's common a knowledge tactic that I never thought about. For the last two days I have been invading at soul levels 14 -20 at the Burg, Perish and even the Capra demon boss area… Now 85% of the people I have invaded are there carrying the drake sword and I use the Ceastus + 5 that has an AR rating less than the drake sword….



I invade to more annoy them then anything. Anyway the other 15% were allot higher hell I even invaded a level 625 but, here is what I don't understand. The 85 % carrying the Drake sword I am guessing this is their first play through, but almost all of them had the Red Tear Stone ring on. Now why would they start the game, run all the way to valley of the Drakes and fight the drakes at low level just to get the tear stone ring? The damage output by the weapons you can use at that level is not really worth it yet.



At first I was wondering if these were players who had left over toons with the bb glitch but, I thought why would they use a low level weapon. Is there another reason that I'm missing.. When I say a lot of them where using it, I mean a lot. I messaged a few and they all said this was their first ply thru, I never bothered to ask about the ring until the end when I was watching the video and noticed all the ring users.

Are you sure it's the red tearstone ring? It could be the blue tearstone ring.

Same effect, and EVERYONE equips it first playthrough, because by that point in the game, you've found at most 3 rings, most only 2.

that's what I thought cause it would only make sense but, I noticed that more often than not after the ring activated I went from taking 160+ damage to 220+ damage.. the increase wasn't alot but it was there, alwasy after the ring activated. I know in higher level PVP the RTS ring can even the odds very quickly. I was surprised to see so many of them early in the game.

Well you always see a bunch of youtubers doing crazy pvp stuff with the red tearstone ring these days so i'm guessing that the noobs are trying to imitate them... how much damage do they actually do with it? Is it appreciable (given they're only using a drake sword)?

It is not impossible to have the Red Tearstone Ring early on... a travel to New Londo is needed, though.

I would take that a few firebombs, a blunt weapon, or sorcery would be the starting weapons, until they got possibly a blade. If not, they would have enough to clean the ghosts... maybe two trips in order to do so, if sorceries (depends on how many arrows they use). Anyways...

After they deflood the lost city, it is easy; take elevator down, go right, and climb. Drakes are there, yes... but avoidable. They are not the fastest creatures, and they take time to stop spraying one direction with lightning.

Climb up, get the ring, and either homeward (which can get four at the start), or suicide... or, if lucky, run pass them all and go to either blighttown, get the key, and go to the shortcut of newlondo/valley... or to the forest, go past the black knight, etc...

Can get it really early in the game. Just need to know 'how'.

BB glitch removal does not stop what has already been BB glitched. They could have made many files of different characters with it, in preparation... 10 files of BB Used Characters, Pre-Patch. Sounds Possible.

They could also just grab the master key and grab it rather than that Acidic.

Hey, some people have other gifts and non-thief classes in mind.

you can also go through darkroot basin route. Its even faster if you don't have the master key.

Funny you should say that. Yesterday I was invading again this time after the thr ing activated I stopped the fight and asked a few of the people if it was the red tearstone and why so early in the game. two stated exactly that they were taking a hint from the playthru's on youtube.

A couple of others stated that this was a new toon but not thier first play thru... the rest wouldn't stop and just killed me..lol .. also to answer your question the RTS increases attack+50% i normally see a 50 to 70 ATR increase with the drake.. Not really worth all the touble for a new player to risk the little mount of humanity traveling to the drakes...

the red tearstone is one of the first things i try to pick up, either by using the master key and running past all the drakes or by beating the taurus demon and running through the forest.

at low levels, invaders will likely one shot you, so you don't lose anything by activating the rts before they find you, if you have the time to do that.
