Which mob (non-boss) area gives you fits on NG+ and beyond?

Without a doubt, the one area that seems to give me more and more trouble each time the game rolls is that building in New Londo Ruins that has what seems like 150 ghosts (and the banshee by the ladder). Now, this is probably because my high level character is a mage. If it was a cleric, no problem. WoG them all back to hell.

I don't even remember when was the last time I entered that building. I always just skip it. I'm too afraid to step in there... :pale:

Oh god, don't remind me of that place.
I haven't killed a single ghost because I haven't used a single curse thingy. I ran through that area grabbing every item and just about managing to climb the ladder to Ingward.

I shoot Ingward with a bow to get the key. (Thanks to Vageta for showing that trick)

Thanks for that awesome vid. I've never seen those shortcuts, and after all this time, I've never just killed Ingward. You've saved me a ton of work on new builds.

this is going to sound silly, but those damn torch bearing hollows are the bane of any play through. for the most part they are docile and easy to take out, but once in a while they go spastic and throttle you to death with that flaming torch. it's just so embarrassing to die that way.

Everyone has trouble with those.Nybbles wrote:this is going to sound silly, but those damn torch bearing hollows are the bane of any play through. for the most part they are docile and easy to take out, but once in a while they go spastic and throttle you to death with that flaming torch. it's just so embarrassing to die that way.
My personal enemy is Havel. Bleh. I guess not in NG+ and beyond, but I can't ever tank him in the first playthrough, and I'm not the best at dodging. He always gives me some trouble.. D:
But for the most part, I don't really have troubling enemies, as I am a tank/spank kinda guy. I may be forgetting an enemy, but there really isn't anyone I can't go up against and feel confident, other than Havel.

I agree. The New Londo ruins by a country mile. The whole place gives me the creeps. Even after opening the door and draining the place, every time I go in there my eyes stand out like 'chapel hat pegs' because it's so dark and Dark Wraiths waiting round every corner. Brrrr.

Forest Hunter NPC's that damn bandit and his axe. (I cannot parry a standard axe for the life of me.)

Im going to have to say the new DLC stone guardians. I know they haven't been around that long, but Ive probably already gotten knocked around more there than I have in any other non-boss area of the game
Edit: either that or the Crystal Hollow/Channeler mobs in the archives. Those crystal bastards do so much more damage than you'd expect from a hollow and I always end up getting killed by at least one or two stray soul arrows that I don't see coming

Oh yeah! I forgot these. If you try to tank these guys, they're horrible. But, then again, way worse in NG than in NG+, like most mobs. The Wandering Knight wrote:royal sentinels in anor londo (for some reason :/.)

No, I definitely have some trouble with them sometimes too. Especially if you're being invaded, which happens to me pretty often when I'm headed to recruit Solaire. Invader + GDB Sniper + 2 Royal Sentinels usually equals me being deathed

I've come up with a pretty solid system on how to deal with them, and invaders at the time. Once you get some kind of step by step process on how to deal with them, it's not too bad.PlasticandRage wrote:No, I definitely have some trouble with them sometimes too. Fight or flight man. If I get the invaded message at the wrong time in there I pretty always just try to run for it. Never learn my lessen. Even to the point of being back stabbed and slammed with Giant Halberds through the O&S fog. On the bright side it was a situation just like that that prompted my first solo victory over them.

Most enemies are easy for me and strangely I've never once died on any NG+ in New Londo Ruins. Not to mention I love New Londo ruins in general because of how creepy it can be.
To be honest the Taurus Demons in the Demon Ruins, the harpees in the painted world, and the bonewheels in the catacombs are my biggest challenge. Especially the bonewheels every time I go down there I'm always on edge... just waiting for the first one to pop up.

I actually really like the NL ruins as well. I was warned I would hate the area on my first play, but I think it's one of the most atmospherically successful areas of the game.
I forgot about the bloated hollows in the PWoA. I'm not a huge fan of those guys either

Definently the Crystal Hollow Archers. I swear to god, those bastards have vision hacks!
Ever since the Duke's Archives, I've hated archers lol. Every single one of them.

The ghosts in New Londo, the skeletons from the Catacombs and the Stone Guardians from Royal Woods.
I still feel ill whenever I enter the Catacombs, the first time I went it took me more than three hours to clear the place and then stupid Pinwheel killed me almost instantly. Yup, the most gentle boss of the game killed me two or three times, I can't remember.

I always just sprint past everything in that building. It is actually quite easy if your good at dodging.
I would have to say that the most annoying mob to me would be either the group ofshield bearing, spear wielding blobs in the Painted World, or the clams in the Dukes. The clams aren't really hard if you stand back and shoot them with arrows, but they tend to be time consuming. I guess you could just run past them....... I could also say Skeleton Dogs in ToG get annoying.
In the DLC, the most annoying thing would have to be the stone guardians. I havent really found anything that hurts them.
