Favorite Moment in Dark Souls?
Mine is undoubtedly the section in the opening cutscene in which the lords receive their lord souls.

The Artorias cutscene. Most epic moment ever.

The first time the crow took me. Not only is it a pretty epic slow motion scene but I love that your character has a reaction to it. There's a lot of great entrances but seeing the character is definitely a tip of the hat

I love seeing things on an epic and grand scale.
So it would either have to be the Gaping Dragon scene or when you finally see Seath fly through the caverns and coming right at you.

Re: Favorite Moment in Dark Souls?
The first time I heard the crestfallen warrior laugh at the end of his greeting to you, chester's sarcasm is close in terms of wit but I knew the moment Crestfallen opened his mouth I wouldn't be able to put the game down again.
That depressed yet amused tone in his laugh like he could cry paired with the epic yet distraught scenery around him gave the feeling that my arrival had awoken the dead world. The fact that there is no way to save him still shakes me every playthrough.
My second would have to be the more sentimental death scenes for the giant blacksmith and Quelaan if you have the witch's ring. It's amazing the weight a single sentence can hold. I still hesitate every time I end game and kill Quelaan, and I refuse to kill that giant again...
The voice work for this game is simply incredible.

The alternate cutscene with Sif. Just hearing him whine after he realizes who you are just makes facing him harder.

I know this answer is kind of a cop out, but I'm going to have to say the Gwyn fight. I've never parried him, as I've never been very good at parrying, so all my fights with him have been pretty epic toe-to-toe battles. Something about the finality of it all, and the amazingly fitting haunting music, and the occasion where you do it with a hell of a worthy comrade in arms whose life you've just saved from hollowing. Both for the purposes of the plot, and the purposes of incredible gameplay it's a great moment

I second that. I tried to parry him once after I read that you could do it, but I got killed quick and never bothered to try again. If I do it once, I will do it every time and I don't want to ruin an otherwise exciting boss fight. Everytime I face him it is always a purely defensive fight, I'm like a cornered rat. I always use a spear or halberd and circle behind the pillars, poking away between his attacks, cowering like a baby. It feels exactly like how a boss fight should to me.

The first time I saw the opening scene on NG+. Seeing my character look up at Oscar in my equipment from my previous playthrough gave me chills.

Ornstein getting his crazy on when you kill Smough. You can watch it as O getting mad and sucking S's skills up, or you can watch a devastated O accept the defeat of his friend and become enraged.

I liked Gwyndolin's reaction when you killed him. The dude is annoying.

Re: Favorite Moment in Dark Souls?
I used to do a lot of invading (trolling) in Sen's, and from there I could hear the first bell ringing often. It's not epic or grand, but I love to hear those bells whenever I'm in their vicinity because it means that another player has completed the first step on his journey--for better or worse!
Gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Re: Favorite Moment in Dark Souls?
One of my favorite scenes in DkS is when you get the lordvessel, and place it in the firelink chamber. That whole scene of your character taking those steps up to place it seems to symbolize the entire franchise (both games). Everything is always stacked against you, and yet you persist. You keep going. And in that scene, which ushers in the second half of the game, where you take on the big four, it seems to be saying, "I'm...coming...for....you."
But as an aside, if I had to pick an all-time epic moment from the two games, it still goes to the entire emotional level of the Maiden Astrea boss fight in DS. Hearing both Garl Vinland and the Maiden plead with you to just turn around and leave them in peace, while that phenomenal theme is playing in the background, still sends chills up my spine. And the ending of that fight, the things Astrea says to you, nearly break me every time.
For anyone who's never played DS, here's a vid of the battle.

My favorite moment is just running into Solaire everytime (except when you need to kill him). The guy just cheers me up for some reason. It was an awesome feeling right after the Taurus Demon the first time. The music always gets me and I tremble a bit and then it's all peaceful

1) When the pink demon in Sen's fortress fly's you over the wall to Anor Londo and there is that awesome shot of the whole city with that music.
2) After you slay Gwyn and pick an ending and the credits roll, the music 'The Nameless Song' starts to play. It's so mysterious, but so calming.

Any boss cutscene that starts with you walking in all badass (e.g. centipede, seath, manus).

Hmm, I like that one, because it's one of those moments that make you question your own motivations. When you're faced with a peaceful opponent, why do you choose to kill them? Is it blind devotion to your task, you'll see it through to the end, unquestioningly; simple curiosity, the desire to see what's next; or is it really malice--you like to prey on the passive?
Priscilla was like that, too, but even more. You have to kill Astraea if you want to finish Demon's Souls, but you don't have to kill Priscilla to beat Dark. So why kill her? Malice, greed, cowardice, righteousness... each has his reason--or not!
