soul of the guardian

hey i beat the sancuary guardien 4 times now and i still dont know what its for.

snuggly wont take it from me gian blacksmith wont.

just a suggestion i dont have a faith build but one of you should try giving it to the sunlight altar like you do for gwyns soul

I feel like I heard somebody say the developers admitted to it doing nothing other than giving souls. To be specific that it was intended to have a use but was cut from the final game.

I could be wrong about the developers saying that directly, but I'm fairly sure that's what I was told.

It had a use but got removed.

It should have been used for some kind of lightning ball attack. I dont know if that was From's actual intension for it, but thats what I would have liked to see.

I feel like they should update the currently "useless" items before they stop updating Dark Souls. Makes it feel incomplete.

I have to admit, even with my rabid fandom, the lack of a use for a special soul bums me out big time.

I was quite pleased with the DLC, but I wish that it was 100% completed. Oh well, can't be perfect

Me: Sweet! A special soul. I wonder what I can make with it
*warps to Chamber of the Princess
Me: Hi Giant Blacksmith! Look what I found. A special soul. What can you do for me.
Giant Blacksmith: Hi, um......nothing
Me: Lol....silly me, maybe I don't have the right base weapon in my inventory to see what I can make.
*homeward bone > bottomless box > Giant Blacksmith
Me: Hello again, now what can you do for me?
GB: Um.....still nothing
Me: Silly me again, maybe there's a different person to go to to craft things with the DLC souls.
GB: Nope, look, I could make you a Manus Catalyst if you had his soul. That shows up in my list. Cool huh?
Me: Well then, I'll just hold onto it for later.

Meanwhile, back at the forums, Skarekrow13 reads that there is no use.

Do you get more of them if you continue killing them when they multiply? Or just the one the initial time? I haven't tried to fight 2 of them yet.

Only the boss gives you one, the clones are weaker and don't give you one.

The Red Dragon Soul in Demon's Souls did nothing too , I just remembered that now. Heh.

I don't think either DeS dragon soul did. Did they?

Nope, although they were both optional anyway. You could just run past them. Seems odd that a main path boss soul wouldn't do anything. Oh From, you so crazy!
