So after some serious thought on it all I think I might actually get mtf surgery. I'm still looking into the requirements but I'm hoping sometime in the next two years I'll be able to get it.

In the next 2 years is a difficult period time to judge accurately.
But, if you wish to do that, so be it. Follow your dreams as you see fit. And I hope you can go through with it. Whatever makes you happy, makes me happy.

I know someone going through ftm and I have to say that from what I know, it's a rigorous process full of psych evaluations, followed by hormonal treatment before going into actual surgery. I plan ahead and make sure to have back-up plans but that's really the ultimate goal in that period of time.
I'm also trying to deal with my social anxiety and depression as much as possible too but that is proving to be very difficult right now.
Also thanks for the support I haven't gotten it from anyone else so far.

As you know, I just got out of mine.
3rd depression I had gone through.
Try talking to close friends about your problems as much as you can, in all cases, social anxiety, depressive issues, whatever. As long as you persevere through this, and get what you want in time, I am happy too.

I'd advise you to work through your depression and other anxieties first before applying, if you already have a therapist speak to them about your plans, make sure they understand you. You don't want to go into that interview and be pegged as someone that isn't mentally stable enough to make that decision(wanting mtf surgery).

More along the lines of "I have chronic depression" I've learned to cope but that doesn't help because of my mood swings which can be brought on by anything.
As far as talking with friends goes, well, I'm doing that right now. I don't have many friends to begin with and that's when I'm including the people I consider friends on the forums.
